Getting to know us...
Another of our wonderful charge nurses, Katie has been at The Park for one and a half years. Born in Seoul, South Korea and adopted from an orphanage at 3 months old, Katie was raised in Salem by her, "wonderful parents who have been happily married for 40 years". Married for over two years herself to husband, Brandon, Katie says, "we don't have children yet, but look forward to starting our family in the near future".
Katie also says, "When I was a little girl I never thought or dreamed of becoming a nurse because I am actually quite squeamish & scared of needles, haha. One day, I got a calling from God telling me to help people by becoming a nurse and he has given me the strength to overcome my fears. I strive everyday to work my hardest, giving our residents the best care I can. I go to bed thinking of them, wake up with them on my mind, and some nights I lose sleep worrying about them. I LOVE all my coworkers just as much as the residents and I would not be able to do my job without them. I don't tell everyone enough, but I thank you all for being my extended family! I wish you all a very happy new year, may this year be the most blessed year yet for you all"!
When Katie is not providing loving care to us all, she enjoys traveling, camping, back packing, hiking and spending time with her loved ones.
