Achieving Community Wellbeing in Oxford County by Working Together
        
The Canadian Index of Wellbeing (CIW) is an innovative and comprehensive tool that measures health and wellbeing across eight contextual quality of life domains.

At the Prevent More to Treat Less |Public Health and Primary Health Care Together joint conference on June 4 & 5, the practical application of the CIW will be featured in a think tank presentation entitled "Achieving Community Wellbeing In Oxford County by Working Together." The session will explore the successes and challenges of a multi-sectoral collaboration between Oxford Public Health and Emergency Services, the Woodstock and Area Community Health Centre (WACHC) Oxford and others.

Province announces consultation on home and community care

 

On April 24th the provincial government released "A Vision for Home and Community Care in Ontario" and said it will hold a series of home and community care summits to gather feedback from providers, patients and their families. The government will also seek input from health care experts on how to improve the quality and value of care provided in the home and community sector.

This event is an opportunity to reflect on the past 25 years of services, programs, research and advocacy for immigrant and refugee health and wellbeing. Join Access Alliance in exploring where we have been, where we are and where we want to go in the next 25 years in the advancement of immigrant and refugee health in Toronto.

Have you been vaccinated against measles?  When was your last tetanus shot?  What vaccinations do you need to get for your trip? Thanks to ImmunizeCA,the first national, bilingual smartphone app, you'll no longer be searching for these answers or your vaccination records. 
   
This free, secure app allows people to store, manage and easily access their immunization information, as well as receive reminders about vaccine updates based on their provincial/territorial vaccine schedules. It is available for iPhone and Android operating systems.

ImmunizeCA was developed as a collaboration between the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, Immunize Canada and the Canadian Public Health Association, with funding from the Public Health Agency of Canada.

  • Community development practices, collective impact approach, wellbeing measurement initiatives

  • Unpack community vitality and sense of belonging

  • Focus on food security - Speakers TDC

  • CI Tool 2.0 and more...

Audience: Staff involved in community initiatives such as community workers, health promoters, social workers, dietician, diabetes educators, physiotherapists, physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and others working on community health and wellbeing initiatives.
