Model of Health and Wellbeing webcast available online
At its recent annual general meeting, AOHC member centres unanimously endorsed a new Model of Health and Wellbeing to guide their delivery of Primary Health Care.
The Model represents a commitment to a shared vision of the best possible health and wellbeing for everyone in Ontario. It describes the core values, the principles and attributes that direct the services and the programs at AOHC member centres. These principles and attributes are rooted in the goal of providing the highest quality of health & wellbeing that is both people and community centred.
To help deepen the understanding of these concepts, AOHC has released an orientation to the Model of Health and Wellbeing webcast.
This webcast is avaiable in both English and French.

Healthy Kids Community Challenge
The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care recently launched a new program called the Healthy Kids Community Challenge.
The Challenge is all about engaging kids and the communities they live in to be more active, eat better and improve their daily habits so they can reach their full potential.
The Ministry is inviting Aboriginal Health Access Centres and Aboriginal Community Health Centres to apply on behalf of their communities they serve.
The deadline for applications is March 14, 2014

Full scope of practice for RPNs and RNs survey
The Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario and the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario, with funding from the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care, are collaborating on a project to develop a toolkit for primary care on maximizing primary care registered nurses and registered practical nurses full scope of practice utilization.
If you are a clinical director, executive director, manager, physician, primary care nurse, team leader, or other health care professional in a primary care organization, you are invited to take part in this short survey.
The deadline to complete this survey is March 17, 2014.

Community Health Ontario Integration Repository webinar now available online
On February 20th, Community Health Ontario (a partnership between Addictions and Mental Health Ontario, the Association of Ontario Health Centres and the Ontario Community Support Association) and CMHA Ontario hosted a free webinar to introduce integrationresources.ca, a new tool that community organizations can turn to as they delve into the often complex and at times misunderstood perceptions of integration.

Scholarships available for Community Health Leadership Program at Rotman May 12-16, 2014
The Centre for Health Sector Strategy at the Rotman School of Management has announced the launch of a new Community Health Leadership Program.
This program is designed to enhance the participants' leadership, innovative thinking, change management, communication, and negotiation skills to support new approaches to leadership in a complex world. It will enable the participants to capitalize on their existing knowledge, skills and capabilities and further their capacity to influence health system and organizational change. The program also provides a rich forum for knowledge exchange among peers in the community sector.
The application deadline is March 21, 2014.
