History of a Cuban cigar brand
Bolivar Cuban Cigars
Simon Bol�var was one of the great historic figures of the 19th Century who liberated much of
South America from Spanish rule.
The Bol�var brand was created in 1902 and is based today at the Partagas factory in the heart of Havana.
It is perhaps not surprising that a Habano named after such a powerful figure is blended to match his might. Bol�var is among the strongest, most full bodied of all Habanos. It boasts an unrivalled richness of flavour in its blend of Vuelta Abajo region tobaccos that makes it one of the most sought-after marques amongst experienced smokers.
Bolivar cuban cigars offer a robust cigar with very little acidity. This results in a strong side cigar that does not come accross as too strong. Cuban cigar lovers that prefer medium to mild should sample one of the larger diameter Bolivar, as they will likley find it very pleasing.
Flavors range for each palette, but common themes are star anise, dry citrus peel, leather and wood. Others find additional hints of floral tones, spice and nuttiness. Regardless of what your palette experiences, you will find the Bolivar powerful, yet not overwelming with a clean strong finish.
The Royal Corona is their robusto offering and great place to start. The Belicoso Fino is stronger and bolder again, with the entire line being considered one of the finest after dinner cigars available anywhere.
Bolivar matches well with most any drink, though lighter flavors such as white wines will be washed out by the power and intensity of Bolivar cigars. A favorite of mine is to savor a Bolivar Royal Corona or Gigante with a cup of strong coffee, after a heavier beef meal.
All sizes are "totalmente a mano, tripa larga" - totally hand made, long filler.

 This cigar comes and goes as availability from Havana House of Canada changes. We have not been able to get it for some time, but it is back. Glad of it as it is one of my favorite lonsdales from Cuba.
Soft and sweet, a mild side cigar that makes an especially good afternoon cigar. Spices like cinnamon and nutmeg are subtle but present, combined with cedar, tree bark and leather tones.
The finish is reminiscent of toasted oats and slightly sweet.
Overall rating of this Cuban cigar would be a 91/100.
CA Magazine last reviewed this cigar as a 88/100 2007, but I suspect if they sampled the new batch it may rate higher.

Seems an elderly gentleman had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%. The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said "Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again". To which the gentleman said "Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will three times!"

A Father of a Small Boy Says
- A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. ft. house, 4 inches deep.
- A 3-year old boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.
- When you hear the toilet flush and the words 'uh oh' , it's already too late.
- Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.

- No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.
- Pool filters do not like Jell-O.
- Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.
- Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.
- You probably DO NOT want to know what that odour is.
- The fire department in Austin, Texas has a 5-minute response time.
- The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.
- It will, however, make cats dizzy.
- Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.
- 80% of men who read this will try mixing the Clorox and brake fluid.------------------------------

My Dad is a self proclaimed curmudgeon, but I love him despite himself. He occasionally shows his heart of gold and his advice has served me well since I started actually listening to it (about age 30). I call him often and he is 82 and still busier than I am some days.
