Who we are and how we got here...since 1993
A client asked me the other day to tell him about our company and I realized I seldom talk about our company enough. I spend my days helping customers chose their Cuban cigars based on passed experience, their palette and of course what they say they like about each Cuban cigar they have smoked. The downside to this is you may get the voice recording, as I am on the phone a lot, but I will call you back as soon as I am able so we can talk cigars too.
Canadian Cigar Company began in 1993 as a retail store in West Vancouver, British Columbia. In 2003 we downsized and moved the company to Calgary, Alberta. While no longer a retail store, we maintain a large walk in humidor, office and shipping area, plus a small well appointed smoking room
We are considered a boutique supplier by some as we go to great lengths to meet our clients very specific needs and expectations for perfect, fresh Cuban cigar and great service. We keep accurate records of your preferences so we can look back and identify that "one I got in the club a few months ago" or " you added one with a man on the band so I could try it, you thought I might enjoy it". Steering you to the "right" Cuban cigar for your palette is what we do and how we have always maintained such a loyal clientele.
While no company is perfect, we take great pride in the corrective measures that must be done to make things right when something does go awry. After all, if you judge a company by how they handle adversity, you get a good idea of how well they treat their clients overall and how much they care.
We are one of only a few online stores that does NOT sell non-Cuban cigars at all. As a Habanos Retailer, we sell only Cuban cigars supplied by Havana House of Canada, the only legal importer in Canada and part owned by HabanosSA.
This means only the finest authentic Cuban cigars enter our humidor after thorough inspection and are carefully maintained in the proper conditions required for storage and enjoyment.
This year is our 20th Anniversary in the Cuban cigar business and we look forward to helping you find the perfect Cuban cigar for your smoking palette so you can enjoy the pleasure found only when smoking the best cigars in the world.
This summer there will be a 20th Anniversary event planned to thank our clients, we just have not set up the details yet. Wow, 20 years already... Any ideas would be welcome.

Cohiba 1966 Limited Edition 2012

Cohiba 1966 LE 2011 - This cigar was recently ranked #2 by Cigar Aficionado for their Top 25 Cigars of the Year for 2012.
In my opinion this Cohiba should be #1 as nothing comes close to it. This is the best Cohiba you can still buy.
If you have ever smoked the Behike or Esplendidos you will now have a new favorite.
This cigar is outstanding in every way. Cohiba has put time and energy in this venture to celebrate Cohiba's 45th anniversary with this 2012 Limited Edition and trust me it shows.
I can't say enough good things about this cigar. In the past I have smoked the Cohiba 2001 limited edition pyramid and Cohiba 204 limited edition Sublime plus the outstanding Cohiba Grand Reserva, and this cigar earns it's place among these classics.
I have to say this is one of the smoothest cigars I have ever smoked. The cigar I had a lighter shade wrapper a 2/6. I paired this cigar with an 18 year old Glenfiddich single malt scotch.
I experienced smooth velvet-like flavors of chocolate, with strong undertones of freshly roasted coffee and faint notes of toasted grain.
Smoking this cigar was an distinctly unique experience, above even other Cohibas and Limited Editions, that I thoroughly enjoyed.
My overall rating for the 1966 would be 98/100. Yeah, the cigar is really that good.

This standard torpedo is among the most popular torpedo's from Cuban factories.
A dark wrapper offered a wonderful musky dark tea aroma and upon lighting I found wood tones that changed to sort of rolled oats just as they start to cook. It did strengthen up in the 2nd half and left a nice nutty finish of
almonds and cashew.
My overall rating for this cigar is 91/100.

Your Chuckle for today
An old German Shepherd starts chasing rabbits and before long, discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a panther heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch.
The old German Shepherd thinks "Oh, oh! I'm in it deep now!"
Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the panther is about to leap, the old German Shepherd exclaims loudly "Boy, that was one delicious panther! I wonder, if there are any more around here?"
Hearing this, the young panther halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees.
"Whew!" says the panther "That was close! That old German Shepherd nearly had me!"
Meanwhile, a squirrel who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the panther. So, off he goes. The squirrel soon catches up with the panther, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the panther.
The young panther is furious at being made a fool of and says "Here, squirrel, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!"
Now, the old German Shepherd sees the panther coming with the squirrel on his back and thinks, "What am I going to do now?" but instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet and just when they get close enough to hear, the old German Shepherd says...
"Where's that squirrel? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another panther!"

Tim decided to tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend. One evening, after the honeymoon, he was assembling some loads for an upcoming hunt. His wife was standing there at the bench watching him. After a long period of silence she finally speaks.
"Honey, I've been thinking, now that we are married I think it's time you quit hunting, shooting, hand loading and fishing. Maybe you should sell your guns and boat...?" Tim gets this horrified look on his face. She says
"Darling, what's wrong?" "For a minute there you were sounding like my ex-wife". "Ex-wife!" she screams "I didn't know you were married before!" "I wasn't".
