Additional parking has been arranged for March 29th as there will be one joint service.
Parking is available at both the swim and tennis club next door and also the Simpsonwood Park (across the street, the former Retreat Center)
The church bus will be available to shuttle your family from the parking lot to the church and back.
Two police officers will assist in directing the traffic. Just follow their instructions.

EASTER IS APRIL 5TH
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!
Saturday, March 28, 9am-noon:
Help us dust and polish the sanctuary for the Easter season! We will be dusting and polishing the woodwork, vacuuming around the edges and cleaning the blinds and windows.
Please join us if you can for half an hour or longer.
Email Linda Romarion if you plan to help out.
We want our church to look its best for spring and the two large Easter season services coming up!!
March 29: Palm Sunday: One Service at 10am celebrating the Confirmation Class
April 5: Easter Sunday: A Sunrise Service and then our 3 usual services, which historically have a total overall attendance of 1,000+.
Van Drivers Needed for the parking shuttle on Palm & Easter Sunday
Additional parking at the Simpsonwood Park and the swim & tennis club next door has been arranged for both March 29th (Palm Sunday) and Easter Sunday (April 5).
Email Linda and let her know what time would be best for you to drive the van shuttle and she will give you specific instructions. (drivers have to approved and trained on the church bus)

Confirmation Service - March 29th
This coming Sunday is a very special Sunday morning centered around honoring our Confirmation class of 2015 (see picture above!) Here is the church-wide schedule for the morning (please note that there will not be an 8:45am, 11am traditional, or 11am Renew worship service but instead one single service for all congregation members and visitors):
9-9:50am: Sunday School for all ages and classes
10-11am: Special combined Confirmation worship service featuring members from all three worship teams.
Reception in the Family Life Center (Building C) to follow.

Easter Egg Hunt/Spring Festival
Great news....our annual Easter Egg Hunt/Spring Festival has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 1st!! It will be held across the street from 4:30-7:00pm. All children's activities will take place on the open field (you can't miss it). There will be slides, obstacle courses, moon walks, and of course our traditional Easter Egg Hunts (one for PreK and under & one for Kindergarten - 3rd Grade). Check out the flyer by clicking here.
Don't forget to bring in your Easter Eggs! There are collection boxes outside of the main office.

Annual Simpsonwood Men's Retreat
March 27 & 28!

Strong Rock Camp near Cleveland, GA
- Will start Friday, March 27, around 7:00 PM at the Strong Rock Camp with a gathering and sharing session led by Matt Parker (topic to be determined). Friday meal on your own.
- Campfire/social time after sharing.
- Saturday we will have 2-3 sharing sessions led by Matt.
- Retreat will end after dinner, 7:00 pm on Saturday.
- Possibility exists to spend Saturday night if you desire, but no plans for any retreat related programs.
- All meals on Saturday provided.
- This year's cost: $66 plus activities

Daniel Goodner (an SUMC church member), youngest son of Mary and Roger Goodner, was in a tragic accident on January 15. The recent picture above shows this wife, Shannon, and his children, Chloe (8), Isaac (4) and David (2). The family will have no income during Daniel's long recovery.

Yoga @ Simpsonwood

A six week session of yoga classes meets at 9:30am in the Family Life Center at Simpsonwood United Methodist church.

We Need YOUR Help!
The Prayer Warriors are almost completely out of prayer shawls to give to the precious members and friends that are going through a difficult time and need prayer. We use the shawls to remind them that they are being prayed for on a weekly basis in our Prayer Warriors ministry.
We need shawls for men and women, young and old!! If you can minister in this way please contact Jann Roeder. We have some funds to help you to purchase the yarn.

Serve with Re-Christ Ministry
3:00-4:45 pm
Can you spare 90 minutes per week to help a child? Servant volunteers are needed to mentor K-2nd graders on Mon & Wed, and 3rd-5th graders on Tues & Thurs each week at Valencia Park Apartments. Anyone ages 18 and older can serve in this important ministry, investing in children's lives. Additional ways to help this ministry include executing a special craft once per month, providing snacks and gift card donation. SIMPSONWOOD TO PARTICIPATE IN ATLANTA-ROSWELL DISTRICT HABITAT FOR HUMANITY HOUSE BUILD
Every Saturday (Excluding Memorial Day Weekend) from April 11-May 30.
Urgent Need:
We need 8 more volunteers each day of April 11 and 18. There is still plenty of need on other work days as well. Jim Sampson will be ourside the church on Sunday if you would like to talk to him or email at sampsonjames@bellsouth.net.
Churches in the Atlanta-Roswell District are partnering to build 2 Habitat houses. The signup information will be available soon. Each Saturday 35-40 volunteers are needed at each home site. Our goal is to provide up to 10 Simpsonwood volunteers each Saturday. You may sign up for one or more Saturdays as you feel led.
To help you make the decision to volunteer here are a few points to consider:
- You will be helping and working beside the qualified homebuyers;
- You will be in working fellowship and having fun with other servants of Christ;
- No experience is required, you will be given jobs where you can learn;
- No personal tools needed;
- Age limit 16 and older;
- Will need to be at job site at 8:00 AM and leave by 4:00 PM;
- Lunch will be provided.

- Meet at church by 5pm to carpool / ride in the van

Mothers: Tour of North Georgia Mountains and Picnic Lunch
Children: Day at the Park and Mother's Day Gift Making
There are a lot of things we need YOU and others of our congregation to get involved with. Volunteers and the moms of HOPE Ministry will travel to the mountains and provide their picnic lunches. We hope to take them in the church van.
Here is an
incomplete list of what we need YOU to do:
- Play with the children of all ages at the park. (we can split them up by ages with enough volunteers)
- Make a picnic lunch for the children to eat at the park.
- Come back to SUMC for Craft making help.
- Ideas for the children to make a Mother's Day gift
- Help them with their craft projects.
- Stay with them until the Moms return.
- Any other ideas?
