DON'T MISS THE ST. JOHN'S BIBLE EXHIBIT
At Arts of the Albemarle Until the End of the Month
If you have not yet had the opportunity to visit the St. John's Bible exhibit at Arts of the Albemarle, it's not too late!  The selections of hand-illuminated Biblical texts are as inspiring as they are stunning.  Alongside these prints are many works by local artists and a large number of prints by the renowned Suffolk calligrapher Michael Podesta.  Don't miss the exhibit and these other upcoming opportunities:
   - Every Thursday at noon, a Bible study using one of the prints is held in the Twiford room at AoA.
   - Sunday evening, January 26, come to an ecumenical worship service at Evangelical Methodist Church to worship God and pray that God's light would shine in our city.

CHILDREN'S NEWS AND YOUTH HIGHLIGHTS
Children
Our KMD kids have started out the year learning about John the Baptist and what it means to prepare ourselves to accept Christ in our lives. During the course of this year we will be learning about what it means to become a disciple of Christ, and how we can follow Him in our everyday lives. We are excited about this year and look forward to all that Christ has in store for us.

Coming up, for our KMD Kids we will be having a Valentine on Friday, February 14, from 6-8:30pm. We will be making crafts, enjoying some food, and having a great time of fellowship.

Youth

Our FBC Youth are still hard at work fixing up their space upstairs. We look forward to being able to show off the youth room once it is finished. We are also starting preparations for VBS. Keep an eye out for announcements and a call for volunteers.

On February 2, we will be having a Super Bowl party up in the youth room and are excited about the big game. On February 28, we will be having a Mardi Gras themed  lock-in and look forward to that. If you would like to volunteer to help chaperone that evening, or part of the evening, contact me.

MUSIC NOTES

What a great time it was this past Sunday seeing David and Heather Webb!  The whole service was very nice with the youth participating and an excellent sermon by James Knight!  I'll be thinking about my "dash" for a long time.

This Sunday, we welcome Dr. Hugh Middleton as our guest organist.  Hugh is a wonderful friend and musician who will be filling in this week.  Please make him feel welcome!  I will be traveling to Georgia this week with the Center Players to attend a musical theatre festival.

As a reminder, Children's choir meets at 5:30 pm on Wednesday evenings and the Chancel Choir rehearses at 7:30 pm.

See you Sunday!
