WEDNESDAY WORSHIPS

There is one more Wednesday Worship in the CLC tonight, August 24 at 6:30 pm.

The last Wednesday Worship service will be held next week, August 31, at Hartkopf Park.  It's a free community BBQ for the neighbors and starts at 5:30 pm.  Prince of Peace will bring the hotdogs and buns and the POP members should bring sides of salads, chips, and desserts to share with the neighbors.

Worship will start at 6:30 pm.
Click here If you'd like to sign-up to help on August 31 with grilling, set-up, hosting, clean-up and to let us know what you'll be bringing as a side.
THE GREAT POP GET TOGETHER
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 AT 9:30 AM

Join us on September 11 as we gather together for the
Great POP Get Together! Pastor Chad recently said that it is always a good time to invite your friends to church, but the Great POP Get Together is a GREAT time to invite a friend.
We will join together for a celebration (blended) worship @ 9:30 and will continue with fellowship time afterwards.
There will be a Ministry Fair, Games, Activities, and Nate Dogs Food Truck ($5/hotdog). Nate Dogs has been labeled as one of the top 5 food trucks in America and they will be here.

If you are looking for a way to volunteer on that morning, sign up at  VOLUNTEER SIGN UP. There are plenty of opportunities for help.

This is a Sunday you won't want to miss.
PARK BROOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Park Brook School
CONGRATULATIONS!

Through the generosity of Prince of Peace members,  many Park Brook Elementary students will start their school year out with the supplies they need to succeed!  Thank you!

Many full grade level back packs were donated along with over 40 plastic bags of extra supplies, empty backpacks to fill with those supplies and several items that were requested  for classroom use.

Park Brook Principal, Scott Taylor sends his
appreciation and gratitude for it all.
 We truly "Reached Out" to
Park Brook's students and staff this school year!
HEARTS AND HANDS FOR JAMAICA

Hearts and Hands for Jamaica have started preparation for the March 2017 adult mission trip(s).  We are planning to attend three weeks, which gives everyone an opportunity to attend one, two or three weeks.

Our dates are:
 March 4 - 11, 2017 - construction
March 11 - 18, 2017 - West Haven Children's Home
March 18 - 25, 2017 - construction

Construction will depend on the projects that are selected.  We are looking at repairs to homes in the area, working on the railing for the patio at Faith chapel, painting, work at the school for the deaf, etc.  The options are open at this time.  In 2016 we painted the inside and outside of Faith Chapel in the community of Copse where we attend church while in Jamaica and painted the outside of Vision Chapel in the community of Burnt Savannah-Bamboo.  During our week at West Haven we worked on the remodel of Cottage 3.

2017 cost has not been determined yet.  However, 2016 costs (listed below)  included airfare, hotel, projects and transportation on the island for work days and to/from airport.  Food, special outings and souvenirs are extra.
1 week - $1,780
  2 weeks - $2,451
  3 weeks - $3,243

If you are interested in attending or would like more information, contact Terri Revell (612-272-5685) terri2192@msn.com.

Thank you for all your support in the past and we look forward to everyone who would like to join us for this extraordinary experience.

QUILTING NEWS
The Prince of Peace Quilters will be back in the Welcome Center sewing quilts and enjoying their time together.

They work on quilts to donate to many different organizations like the Veterans Hospital, Salvation Army, Sharing & Caring Hands, Brooklyn Avenues for Homeless Youth, and women's shelters.

Quilters meet at the church on the first, third and fifth Wednesdays of each month September through May.

Can't attend, well, they can always use cotton or cotton/poly sheets or fabric that can used for quilt squares or backing; these can be dropped off at the church office.

If you're interested in more information contact
Jo Anderle 763-566-1570 or Carolyn Parker 763-427-1612.

Worship/Sermon schedule
Miss a Sunday? Need to revisit a meaningful message? Want to share a message with a friend? Find it here.

One service Sunday schedule continues through September 11 which is Rally Day.  Rally Day includes an all church celebration at 10:30 am (following the 9:30 am service).

September 18 we will return to 2 services,
9:00 am traditional and 10:30 am contemporary.

BROOKLYN AVENUES

Brooklyn Avenues for Homeless Youth is a 12-bed shelter and transitional housing program for homeless youth located in Brooklyn Park.  Youth ages 16-20 who are experiencing homelessness in the NW suburbs of Hennepin Cty are eligible to receive support from Brooklyn Avenues.  Usually the average stay will be 3-4 months, although some will stay shorter and others will stay longer.  The maximum stay is 18 months or age 21, whichever comes first.

Prince of Peace is connected in a few different ways like putting on a monthly birthday celebration, helping with an onsite garden and collecting supplies (click here for the list) to provide for the youth that are living there.

Right now we are collecting full size shampoo and conditioner to donate.  Put those supplies in the "tree-house" near the kitchen.

Thanks!

WELCOME TO PRINCE OF PEACE

Welcome To Prince of Peace!

Check out our   welcome video! This professionally produced video will give visitors to our website a glimpse of what we are all about at Prince of Peace. The video can also serve as a fantastic way to invite others to Prince of Peace. We bet that you know at least three people who are not active members in a local congregation. Take a moment and send them a quick email with the link to this video. We also encourage you to share the video on your own Facebook page. It is an easy and effective way to let folks know about the wonderful outreach and ministry happening at your church and to let them know that they are invited!
