5:45pm Pizza / 6:30pm Mentoring / 7pm Worship Service
Wednesday Lent series is ... Thin Places... those situations that leave you wondering if you just had an encounter with the Divine... when the beauty, comfort and grace of God are within reach... those times when the gap between Heaven and our own mundane experience seems almost small enough to step across. Thin Places.
It's that time again! Theology on Tap is meeting tonight, Feb. 23 at Mad Jack's in Brooklyn Park.
Since Lent is fully underway, let's talk about the sermons that are being given by members, about their Thin Places - where do we feel God nearer to us? When? Can we create them?
Bring a friend! As always if you have any questions call my cell 952-769-7676. See you there!
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
Before you go to bed on Saturday, March 12 ... set your clocks ahead one hour.
Daylight savings time begins March 13th and we "spring head".
CEAP and FOOD SHARE MONTH
March is Food Share Month we'll collect food and money donations forGiggles vs Dill (Groceries versus Dollars). On March 13th the congregation will provide either food or dollars per which "team" they are on.
The congregation will be divided into two teams so as to have a little friendly competition to see who can bring in the most for their teams.
If your last name begins with N-Z you are on team GIGGLES (Groceries). Bring in any non-perishable food items and place them in the food bins that we will have available.
If your last name begins with A-M you are on team DILL (Dollars). Place your money in the glass CEAP Jar that will be located in the Welcome Center.
Holy Week is special giving of items requested by CEAP ...
Prince of Peace Spiritual Growth Team, in collaboration with Pr Natalia, and both our Children and Youth Ministries, is putting on a Parent OneRead during March.
Together, during the month of March, we'll read "The Collapse of Parenting" by Dr. Leonard Sax.
It's an interesting and unique take on parenting by a renowned family physician and psychologist, with years of research and expertise informing his book.
We will use Dr Sax's book to build a lively discussion for parents of kids at all stages and age, at 6pm on Wednesday, April 6th. Parenting is hard. So let's talk about it together.
Here's a great interview from MPR about this very book.
SCHOLARSHIPS
SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER:
Some of you may have noticed the envelopes hanging in the Welcome Center and found yourself wondering what they are, and why they are there?
Over 5 years ago (actually closer to 10) the Children, Youth and Family Staff stood in front of you asking for help to raise up our Scholarship fund, and we are here to ask that again.
As our Summer ministry opportunities continue to expand our outreach does as well. We are also noticing that more and more young people want to attend the opportunities, but can't afford it - that is where you come in. If you would like to donate to our Children, Youth and Family Scholarship fund, please feel free to grab an envelope, place your donation in the envelope (checks made out to Prince of Peace with Scholarship Fund in the memo line) and turn it into the main office. These donations are tax deductible and will help make a difference in the lives of our young people. If you are wondering how much of a difference: Check out the stories posted around the Welcome Center.

Children & Family Ministry UPCOMING Events
POP Tots has been REVAMPED! To better serve our youngest members and their families we are expanding.
We will still meet once a month (usually the first Saturday of the month), but we are expanding our time and will now meet from 9:00-11:30. We will also have two separate play areas (both in the CLC) that will better serve (and protect) our little babies. And last, but not least we are expanding our age range to include our Preschoolers as well.
There will be snacks, crafts, and toys, but most importantly there will be time for parents to sit and chat about raising children. Our next POP Tots is on Saturday, March 5th!
DIGGIN In is BACK and will continue for the duration of Lent. We meet in the Chapel from 6:30-6:55 on Wednesdays to dig into the Lenten Theme of Thin Places. You do not need to pre-register and there is no cost. Simply come to the Chapel at 6:30 and your child will be done by the time worship starts. This is a great opportunity for our younger members to participate in Lent as well.
The SUMMER CATALOGS are out and to see a full listing of our Summer Day Camp catalog please HERE. This will give you all of the information you need to know for our 11 WEEKS of Summer Day Camp.

Check out our welcome video! This professionally produced video will give visitors to our website a glimpse of what we are all about at Prince of Peace. The video can also serve as a fantastic way to invite others to Prince of Peace. We bet that you know at least three people who are not active members in a local congregation. Take a moment and send them a quick email with the link to this video. We also encourage you to share the video on your own Facebook page. It is an easy and effective way to let folks know about the wonderful outreach and ministry happening at your church and to let them know that they are invited!
