THANKSGIVING EVE WORSHIP

 Wednesday, Nov. 25
Worship with communion

at 6:30 pm.
Please bring a non-perishable food item to share.  You will be invited to bring your  food/money up to the altar during offering, which is at the end of the service.

After the service (around 7:30 pm) we will be in the Welcome Center making 1000 sandwiches for the 363 Days Program and we will be eating pie!

There are so many things we are thankful for here at Prince of Peace including our wonderful Prince of Peace family.  Come and share in the thankfulness this Thanksgiving Eve.  This would be a terrific time to bring a friend and/or loved one with you to share in the joy.

GLOBAL AND LOCAL OUTREACH

Our Global outreach is ELCA's God's Global Barnyard.  We are able to purchase animals to support long-term sustainable solutions.  To participate pick an ornament off of our Global Barnyard tree, or put a monetary donation in the barn located in the Welcome Center.  You may also pick up a bank to fill and have back to church by December 20th.  We will add that money to the money that was designated for a particular animal to purchase more animals.

CEAP Christmas Our local outreach is the ever popular CEAP Toy Drive.  The CEAP Tree is loaded with gift ideas.  Stop by the tree to get an ornament with an idea and bring the present back (unwrapped) by December 13th.

You don't have to pick up an ornament to bring a gift - add an extra gift to your cart while you are out shopping to donate and help spread joy and cheer this holiday season.

WORSHIP

"Blessed be the holy Trinity, one God, the Lord of Israel who comes to set us free., the mighty Savior who comes to show mercy, the Dawn from on high who guides us into peace.

HEARTS AND HANDS FOR JAMAICA
(formly Mission Jamaica)

Bake sale
Sunday, December 13, 2015
8:30 am to Noon
Do you love to bake?  POP's Hearts and Hands for Jamaica Team is having their annual bake sale on December 13 and we are looking for donations of cookies, cakes, pies, bars, breads, candy or any other treat you'd like to share.  We will be at church on Saturday, December 12 between 9 am and noon to collect donations or you can bring them on Sunday morning.

Then before, during and after the church services on December 13 you can select your favorite Christmas treats to take home.  Monies received from the bake sale will be used for donations or projects with our Jamaica partners during our 2016 mission trip.

The 2016 POP Hearts and Hands for Jamaica Team includes:
Lori Clausen, Bruce and Vicki Emerson, Bill Fredrick, Ann Goebel, Helen Kellerman, Jerry Laumann, Marian and  Marv Hutchens, Terri Revell, and Gerry Schroeder.  Please continue to pray for our team and our partners in Jamaica as we begin to plan and prepare for our trip leaving February 27, 2016.  Thanks for your continued support!

QUILTERS

Mark your calendars!
The Prince of Peace Quilter's annual quilt sale
Sunday, December  6 and 13
8:30 am - 11:00 am
New for sale this year will be quilted potholders,
which make a great holiday gift when you want just a little something extra.

Proceeds from the quilt sale are used to buy batting and supplies for quilts that are made and donated to the women's shelter, the VA hospital, Sharing & Caring Hands, Bridging, Red Cross, Salvation Army and the homeless.

Donations of cotton or cotton/polyester fabric or sheets are always welcome (no knits, silky or heavy fabrics please).   These are used to make the quilt tops or quilt backing.  Even if the sheet isn't perfect (e.g., it has a bad spot or tear), we most often can still use part of it to make quilt-top squares.

Do you have an interest in joining our group?
We welcome anyone who can simply tie a knot
or cut a square no sewing skills needed!  We are a small group that meets at the church from 9 a.m. to noon on the first, third and fifth Wednesday of each month, September through May. We break midway through each session to enjoy a cup of coffee/tea, some sweet treats and friendly conversation. If you can't make every meeting, no worries. Feel free to join us anytime for a morning of fellowship, knowing that you're helping a worthy cause.  We derive much enjoyment and satisfaction working with the lovely fabrics and pieced quilt tops, knowing that our efforts provide warmth and comfort to those in need.

We hope to see you at the quilt sale on December 6 & 13!

NEEDS YOU!

musical notes Music has always been a very important part of worship and everyday life at Prince of Peace Church.  At this time, the choir needs to grow it's numbers.  They especially need more new voices during the winter months when a good number of the regular choir members travel to warmer places.

Email John Myszkowski at johnfmyszkowski@comcast.net  for more information.  Or drop by practice tomorrow night at 5:30 (it's earlier because they will practice before the 6:30 Thanksgiving Eve worship service).

The Bell Choir will meet next week at 6:00 pm. in the Worship Center.

Be part of the music ministry here at Prince of Peace.  You'll have fun and get to know a great bunch of people!

WELCOME TO PRINCE OF PEACE!

Welcome To Prince of Peace!

Check out our  welcome video! This professionally produced video will give visitors to our website a glimpse of what we are all about at Prince of Peace. The video can also serve as a fantastic way to invite others to Prince of Peace. We bet that you know at least three people who are not active members in a local congregation. Take a moment and send them a quick email with the link to this video. We also encourage you to share the video on your own Facebook page. It is an easy and effective way to let folks know about the wonderful outreach and ministry happening at your church and to let them know that they are invited!
