MATCHING GIFT OPPORTUNITY

The Leave a Legacy Team is

offering a matching gift opportunity to the members and friends of Prince of Peace.

Donations designated "Nepal Earthquake" and received between May 3rd and June 30th will be matched up to $1,000 by the Leave a Legacy Endowment Fund.

Donations made to Prince of Peace will be channeled through the ELCA Lutheran Disaster Response where 100% of the donations will go to assist those directly impacted.

PICTURE DIRECTORY

Photography Dates:  June 22 - 26 ... 2 pm - 9 pm

We will be producing a new picture directory.  Please plan to have your picture taken.  Our new picture directory just won't be complete without you!

NATALIA'S ORDINATION

May 31st is going to be a FANTASTIC Day here at Prince of Peace, and we need your help to make it happen. At 1:00 we will be celebrating the Ordination of Natalia Terfa. After the service we will be having a reception in her honor, and we would like volunteers to help. If you are available to help, please sign-up on this google doc

Also, if you are interested in helping with Food Preparation, please contact Katie Rykal or Lynell Keller directly and we will let you know what we are looking for.

We hope all of you are able to join us for this beautiful occasion.

CARIBOU OFFICE HOURS

POSTPONED!

If you planned on attending Caribou Office Hours on May 12, it was postponed until the 19th.  Same hours and same place ...   9:30-11:30, at the Caribou off of 610 and Zane.  Join Natalia for coffee and conversation!

JEANS AND JUNK

THIS SUNDAY ... May 17th join one of the teams that will head out to clean up the stretch of highway that Prince of Peace is responsible for.  There will be a group that leaves after each service.

Wear jeans to church, bring some gloves and help do our part to keep Brooklyn Park beautiful!  It's a fun way to get the job done.  The more the merrier!

Contact Sue LaGue for more information.

LEAVE A LEGACY MEMORIAL DAY

Leave a Legacy

Memorial Day Remembrance - Sunday, May 24th yellow-fade-flowers-header.jpg

Prince of Peace will recognize Memorial Day on Sunday, May 24th. The Leave a Legacy Team is providing altar flowers in memory of all loved ones who are no longer with us. This team manages and promotes the Endowment Fund. Your donations, given in memory or honor of loved ones or a special occasion, allow us to make benevolent contributions and complete special projects beyond what we can do through the operating budget. Memorial Day is a perfect opportunity to give a gift in memory of a loved one.

If you would like to give a Memorial Day gift, you can simply put a check marked "Leave a Legacy" in the offering plate, or mail / bring it to the office.

If you prefer to give by credit/debit card you can visit our website at princeofpeacechurch.org and click on "Give Online". You will be able to make a one time (or recurring if you choose) gift to the Endowment Fund.

SCHEDULE INCLUDING SUMMER

May 17th 2  Worship Services
9 am Traditional and 10:30 Contemporary

SUMMER SCHEDULE starts
Sunday, May 24th

On May 24th there's one worship service at 9:30 am

Wednesday Evening
Potluck and Worship
will begin Wednesday, June 3rd.

Potluck at 5:30 pm, Worship at 6:30 pm.

We will follow the summer schedule for Sundays through September 13 (Rally Day) and Wednesdays through the last Wednesday in August, August 26th.

POTLUCK .. we need individuals, families and groups to volunteer to host Wednesday's potluck.  Volunteers will prepare a "main" dish (sloppy joes, hot dogs, tacos, etc), set up for the potluck (make coffee and/or lemonade) and clean up.  After the meal, food receipts can be turned in for reimbursement.

Sunday and Wednesday will be different services (different sermons).  Plan on attending one or both and please consider signing up to be a host for a Wednesday night meal.

SENIOR CHOIR

choir Senior Choir is looking for help!  Prince of Peace's Choir joyously and effectively enhances worship on Sundays from September through May, but its members are aging!  Your commitment could be for the entire choir 'season', smaller portions of that, or specific special events.  Adding 20-30 additional members from High School through 'Elder' age brackets, even on a short-term basis, would be a great start at sustaining the quality of this church 'family.'  Please prayerfully consider helping out Senior Choir, and join us this summer for a 'Pick-Up' choir Sunday!  Thanks!  John

ELW HYMNALS

Click here for a form to place an order for a hymnal in memory or honor of someone.  Put them in the offering plate, mail them in or turn them in to the office.
Contact the office at 763-560-8958 or email lynellk@princeofpeacechurch.org if you have questions.
KID'S CHOIR
Kid's Choir did an amazing job at the Showcase Concert!  Thanks to all who attended and helped out.

Kid's Choir is now done for the year and will resume in the fall.  If your son/daughter is interested in becoming a member, check out the bulletin board by the nursery and watch for more information in the fall.

Thanks!

Sunday School is just about wrapped up for the year. This Sunday we will have our final Family Worship of the School Year. However, just because summer is coming, that doesn't mean we don't offer ministry for our young children.

  • ONE: Two Sundays a month (starting on May 31st) we have Sunday Morning Dig where we spend time during the readings and sermon digging into the lessons in the Welcome Center. You do not need to pre-register and there is no cost. Simply show up and join us as we dig in. The Sunday Morning DIG Schedule will always be listed in the Monthly Newsletter.
  • TWO: There will be Children's Activity Bulletins on ALL SUNDAYS starting on May 24th. They are located on the Welcome Kiosk. Crayons are also available.
  • THREE: Kids Time will continue to be offered at most of our Sunday morning services, as well as our Wednesday night services (starting on June 3rd)
  • FOUR: On Wednesday nights we offer activity tables in the hallway for young children.
  • FIVE: The Wiggle Garden, Worship Bags (5 and under), and Nursery (3 and under) continue to be offered on Sunday mornings.
  • SIX: POP Tots (for all children three and under) continues through the Summer (except in July). Our next gathering is on June 6th @ 11 am. We will meet at Elm Creek Park for a picnic lunch (please pack your own) and playtime.
  • SEVEN: See above for our registration for our Summer Day Camps that are available for all children ages 3-5th Grade.

Sunday Schschool-group.jpgool registration for the 2015-2016 School Year  is also up and running. Click here to register

The $25/child registration fee can be paid at your earliest convenience.
