BROOKLYN AVENUES YOUTH SAFE HOUSE

On Monday March 11, the Brooklyn Park City Council voted unanimously to approve funding for the "Brooklyn Avenues Youth Safe House" which will be a 10 bed short-term housing program for homeless youth in our area. Pastor Chad and several other POP members joined folks from a dozen other area churches at the council meeting in a show of support for the project. The exact location of the youth safe house has yet to be determined but one of the proposed sites would make POP the closest church to the new center.  Click this link for more information and watch for ways to be involved in this important outreach!

MARCH MINNESOTA  FOOD SHARE MONTH

CEAP Food Drive is going on through the entire month of March.  March is Minnesota Food Share month and any food or monetary donation that CEAP receives is DOUBLED.  All non-perishable food items can be placed in one of the big CEAP bins that are located around the church.  A jar for monetary donations will also be out on both Wednesdays and Sundays.  Please be a hero and help support CEAP in their efforts to help those in Minnesota who are hungry.

LOAVES AND FISHES - BROOKLYN CENTER

loaves and fishes Loaves and Fishes is an organization committed to providing nutritious meals for those in need in the metro area. For many years, Prince of Peace has helped with meals at River of Life in Minneapolis.
We are now working at the newest site in the metro area in addition to River of Life. The new site is located at Lutheran Church of the Master at 1200 69thAve. N. in Brooklyn Center.

LCM is currently serving meals two nights a week - Monday and Wednesday, and Prince of Peace is helping with the meal the 4th Monday of every month.  Every month we need 10-12 volunteers to take beverage and meal orders, serve the meals, gather and clean dirty dishes, clean off tables and help wash dishes.  It is a great opportunity to serve others!  Benefits include meeting new people, having fun working together, sitting down to eat and converse with others and an overall good feeling knowing you brightened someone's day.  Serving is from 5-6:30 and we gather around 4:30 and are finished by 7 or before.  If you'd like to join us in serving at the Brooklyn Center site, please contact Bev at 763-566-8209 or e-mail her at tomals@aol.com.

PLANT SALE FUNDRAISER
