Multiple In-Die Operations and Manufacturing Capabilities

Having the expertise to analyze the production process and, in some cases, suggest operations that combine multiple piece assemblies into a single component is a value-added benefit that Winzeler Stamping Company brings to the table.

The part shown above is a stainless steel bracket for an automotive fuel rail application. Utilizing a cross-feeding process, a copper slug is inserted into the stainless steel component (for brazing purposes) during a single stamping operation.  A cost benefit is achieved by inserting the copper in-die versus completing the assembly in a secondary operation.  Because so many different operations may be incorporated within a single die, exploring options that include in-die blanking, bending, punching, piercing, tapping, embossing, curling, knurling, and deep drawing can lead to a more economical cost per part.

Winzeler Stamping Company is a solid choice for a manufacturing partner who cares about your success as much as our own. We welcome the opportunity to quote tooling and parts for you.

Sunshine Returns...

The cold weather and snow have finally moved out and blue skies & sunshine have moved back in. What a winter here in the Midwest!  Then the long winter was followed by a cool and wet spring.  That very wet spring has led to a slower than normal start for our Lawn & Garden business. In reading through the business journals over the past few weeks, news that the 1st quarter GDP grew at only 0.1% was hardly a surprise.

The weather was harsh and it took it's toll on some segments of the the economy, but certainly there were winners as well as losers as a consequence of mother nature's grip on the nation. Most economists agree that the country's poor 1st quarter performance was directly related to the weather.

Weather Impact Poll

Based on the statistics below, the "blame the weather crowd" might be right.
  • The US economy added 288,000 jobs in April
  • Unemployment rate is 6.3% (lowest level in six years).
  • All indicators are up this month, from manufacturing production, through car sales, construction spending, and steel output.
  • The PMI figure from the Institute of Supply Management rose to 54.9 percent in April from March's 53.7 reading, representing manufacturing expansion for the eleventh consecutive month.
  • Of the eighteen manufacturing industries, seventeen reported growth in April, including Primary Metals, Transportation Equipment, Fabricated Metal Products, Machinery, Chemical Products, Paper Products and Petroleum and Coal Products.
  • Durable goods production rose 0.8%
