COMING FALL 2016 40,000 HOURS OF INSPIRED FREE PLAY

The time has come to re-imagine the largest exterior space on campus: The Playground and Central Yard
What was 5 years ago stated on the campus renovation plan as "coming someday" has finally arrived. Someday is today!

5 important things to know: We have a 25-year lease.  Now is the time! The funding comes entirely from donations (not tuition).  We will still need the community's support for the operating budget, through Annual Giving, the Gala, and the Move-a-Thon.GREAT NEWS!Thanks to our outstanding community, through a successful pre-launch and the 2014 Gala bid designated for this project, we have already raised 77% of the needed funding.  It's incredible!  The final and most important stretch of the race is now at our feet.  We are counting on the community to raise $93,500 to carry this torch across the finish line.  Financial commitments needed by this June.  Accepting pledges paid in installments through June 2017.
We can do this, but not without you!   Learn More:  www.waldorfschool.com/playground/

 Sailing the High Seas!

Two of our WSOC High School students, Bobby Oxford Pope (Grade 10) and Catherine Reynolds (Grade 9), were chosen to be part of a 9 person crew aboard a 38' "Apprentice" to sail in the 2015 Islands Race.  The racecourse started in Long Beach Harbor, went around Santa Catalina and San Clemente Islands and finished off at San Diego' s Point Loma.  They were one of 34 boats that began the race on Friday March 6th.  They finished the next day, 4th in a class of 7, in 1 day, 15 minutes and 36 seconds.

Administrative Audit   The Board of Trustees has initiated an administrative audit.  The school has been growing rapidly and it was deemed necessary to have a review of the administrative structure to ensure efficiency and maximum use of resources.  The company doing the audit is very experienced with Waldorf Schools. You can learn more about them by visiting  their website at: http://www.adminservice.com/staff.php  The audit process will start immediately and will include a two-day site visit in the second half of April.   |

 | | Mark your calendars for this year
May Faire 2015   Based on survey and parent feedback, the May Faire committee has decided this year to have a fresh, new look which continues to embrace Waldorf Education with the sense of community and family.
In the spirit of adventure and being environmentally-conscious we will try to create a smaller global foot print by being less wasteful, recycling, using reusable décor, more family games and crafts, and Contra dancing.   Every family will receive 2 free entry wristbands.   Wristband and tickets for meals (and for some of the games & crafts) can be purchased at Company of Angels two weeks before May Faire.   Drop & shop at "Twice upon a time" for May Faire white clothing.   Saturday May 2, 2015 10am-2p    |
