WSOC 25th Birthday Celebration

We were overjoyed to see so many bright and cheerful faces come out to celebrate our birthday.  From our youngest students to our historians who go back 25 years, a festive time was had by all.  Thanks for being there everyone! Pictured above is one student from each class, Grades 1 - 12, to blow out the birthday candles with some help from the wind.  Mark your calendars for roughly the same date and time in 2038 for the 50th Birthday!

High School

The 12th Grade is looking for people in the market for winter greens. We know it's hard to think about now with our 80 degree weather, but our order deadline is Nov. 8.

Our school has sold these fresh products from the Pacific Northwest for many years, always with the highest level of satisfaction.   This year the 12th grade holds the reigns of this fundraiser as a way to earn the final funds needed for their class trip to Dornach, Switzerland.  They will attend the Waldorf International Youth Conference, they are noted presenters, and will have the opportunity to perform Eurythmy in the famous Goetheanum!  Truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

The class is asking for the support of those who have access to people who might enjoy these products:  co-workers, employees, neighbors, friends and family, or even yourself.  This is completely non-mandatory and there is no pressure.  But if you are able to support them with your purchase of a very nice product or gift, then that is a winner for everyone.

Packets were distributed in the classes.  If you would like to participate and don't see a packet in your child's basket or backpack, we have them in the office.  Thanks!

A special thank you to Wolfgang (her father) for sharing this video of her accomplishments with us.

Parent Association

Our Parent Association is currently seeking volunteers for two of our valued leadership opportunities.  If you are interested in either of the roles listed below, please contact Jaime Stahl in the school Roster or inquire at the front desk.

Hospitality Chair:

The PA is in need of an annual Hospitality Chair for the 2013-2014 school year.  The Hospitality Chair will coordinate hospitality activities, namely setup and clean up of refreshments, for on-campus events (e.g., open house(s), parent lectures, information nights, and admissions events).

Beautification Chair:

The PA is in immediate need of a Beautification Chair.  The Beautification Chair will work with the Grounds Committee to coordinate volunteer efforts for beautification activities in support of our campus' master plan.

Uschi Friebauer-Fond Memories

Uschi touched many lives in our community. Please share with her family your fondest recollections, anecdotes, pictures, thoughts, artwork, poems, ... anything to show Wolfgang, Lukas, and Paula-Sophia how much love for Uschi lives in our entire community.

Here's how you can contribute:

  • Pick up a blank memory book page in the school office or use your own (standard 12x12" scrapbooking page).
  • Write, draw, glue in photos, ... and please include your family name.
  • Drop off in the school office or give to Andrea Hubert by the end of October.

We will assemble all offerings into a memory book to be given to the family.

Thank you for caring and contributing!

Grandparents Day

Save-the-Date -- Grandparents and Special Friends Day

Friday, November 22

9:30 - Noon

This is an annual event in which your extended family and special friends are invited to take a small peek into what happens at our school.  For the first part of the program, students from Grades 1 - 12 will take the stage with their classes to share a glimpse into something they are working on in school this year. Then the classrooms will be open for them to enjoy.  School will be over at noon so you and your child can spend the afternoon with loved ones who may have traveled to make the visit.

Coming soon:  we will be sending an email invitation to you that includes a link for both you and your guests to RSVP. It will include more details, including a special note about parking.
