Collection for the Detroit Waldorf School

Dear friends,

I would like to express my great joy for the wonderful response in collecting clothing to help our friends in need at the Waldorf School in Detroit. The amount of clothing we gathered is overwhelming and very heart warming. There was not a day that passed without me finding a bag or box with clothes in front of the hall. Some of you, I met in person, and we talked. Most of the donations were anonymous; a few had name tags on them. My heartfelt thanks go to all of you! Thank you so much!

Now I will contact the person who offered to transport the donation to Detroit-thank you to Paul Conolly at Oceanstar Express. When school resumes in the New Year the community in Detroit will receive our shipment. I had already sent one trial box before I knew we would get the wonderful offer of free shipping. Our friends sent an email thanking us and saying that this is very helpful to them at this time in their lives.

Wishing you all a wonderful Holiday!

Fondly,

Elisabeth

6th Grade Goodwill

For the past three weeks the sixth grade class has collected  gifts for charity.  Everyone in the class brought a gift (some people went above  and beyond and contributed multiple-even from their own piggy banks) and we stacked the gifts in a wicker basket.  The basket was gradually filled as each gift was added.  Now that it is filled to the brim, the pride we feel in our contributions will bring double the joy to some lucky children this Christmas.

DO YOU HAVE A ROOM FOR RENT?

The school often has mentors, evaluators and visiting teachers.  It is nice to put them up in a home rather than a hotel.  If you live fairly close to school and have an extra room in your home the school will pay $50 a night if you house one of our guests.  If you are interested please contact Gina Illes.
