Come to Company of Angels tomorrow (Friday) at 8:45 to see who will be the next winner of Reserved Parking for the school year.  Anyone who has contributed or pledged to Annual Giving by 4:30 PM today will be entered into the drawing (except for school employees).  Although you do not need to be present to win, it sure would make it more fun!

The support of our community has been just wonderful.  We are 4 weeks into the campaign and have raised over $40,000 with 32% participation.  Although we still have a way to go to reach 100% participation from all our families, this is certainly an excellent start.  Thank you!

To learn how your classes are doing with participation, click here.

You should have received a letter with a gift envelope in the mail.  We have more envelopes in the office.   Making your gift on-line is really simple. www.waldorfschool.com/annual

10th Grade Inorganic Chemistry

Discover (or revisit) the compelling subject of Inorganic Chemistry, as presented by 10th Grade Student Stephanie Burritt.  She created this website to document her class' findings during their studies with Miss Ingrid.  It is a bonus lesson for us, as this was not part of the class requirements.

Bienvenidos y Hasta Luego

This week each of our 10th grade students and their families welcomed and hosted an exchange student from Mexicale, Mexico.  The students from Mexicale came to school each day and enjoyed a calendar full of afternoon and evening activities with their new 10th Grade buddies.  In the spring, the WSOC students will visit their new friends for a week in Mexico.  We loved having them here and our students look forward to the new adventure to come!

Article of the Week

The November issue of OC Family includes an article entitled, "Explore the Waldorf Way.  The fastest growing educational approach is on the rise in Orange County."  Our own Robin Theiss, High School Lead Humanities Teacher and College of Teachers Chair, is quoted:

"Through creative play in early childhood, imaginative learning in the lower grades, and critical thinking in the high school level, Waldorf education prepares the student to meet the challenges of the new millennium, to engage in the global community and to create a new paradigm for collaborative leadership."

"At the Waldorf School of Orange County, we believe we are changing the world - one student at a time."

We also have several copies available in the front office.

Community Dance Contra Style!

We kicked up our heels and had great deal of fun, swinging to the beat of Atlantic Crossing, with direction provided by Donna Burgess.  It was great to see everyone's smiles and dance skills!  Thank you 11th grade for making the yummy homemade treats.
