JOIN US FOR AN OLD-TIME COMMUNITY CONTRA DANCE!
Thursday, Nov. 1
7 - 9 PM
Patterned folk dancing with a caller and a live 3-piece band!
It's 100% FREE and 100% FUN.
You may wonder why we are we holding a community dance on a non-school day...
Answer: Because we are oh so smart and resourceful! Donna Burgess, who is a Contra Dance Caller (among many things) will be with faculty and staff that day for in-service training. She so kindly offered to teach and call the dancing for our community. We couldn't resist the opportunity to kick up our heels.
Please have a great day with your children, and join us in the evening for a dosie-doe-ing good time. You can come with your partner or alone, as one of you may need to stay home to watch the kids (this is for adults only).
Open to every parent in our community. FREE! Come one, come all!
Light refreshments and water will be available for sale by the 11th grade as a class fundraiser.

The Scrip Store is OPEN!
Have you bought your scrip this week?
It's working! Two of our families have met the $275 profit commitment, and are giving back. These families are earning scrip credit that goes to their classes and our school today!
ZucchiniXpress: earn 5% from your weekly organic fruit & vegetable orders...20 families just earned their 5% while enjoying September's harvest! Jutta & Jesus Gamboa are the wonderful owners.
Parsival Plumbing: earn scrip dollars from your plumbing problems that Thomas Pangrazio will skillfully fix for you! He just presented a check for $95 that scrip families earned.
Here's what one of our new 5th Grade parents, Susan Watkins, said about using scrip: "As a new Waldorf family, we were unfamiliar with scrip. But having used them now for two weeks, I love them! I'm buying them for my weekly gas and groceries, and for the restaurants we frequent...like Subway after soccer games. I have a feeling I'll be buying them for the retail stores next. What a great way to budget my holiday spending and support Waldorf at the same time." Thank you Susan for sharing your thoughts about scrip!
Fast stat: our WSOC parents last year bought $210,000 worth of Mother's Market scrip...maybe that is why we are the only non-profit to earn 10% instead all of the others earning 5%...thank you Mother's Market for your INCREDIBLE support of WSOC families & their friends!
Next week: some FAB local restaurants will be joining The Scrip Store...YUM!
Thank you for your support of the scrip program...an easy way to bridge the gap between our {very} reasonable tuition & the {rich} curriculum your students receive here at WSOC!
See you at The Scrip Store!

Fundrasing Schedule 2012-2013
The schedule of major fundraising events was announced at the
Back-to School Night:
- Annual Giving: NOW
- Annual Gala/Auction: March 9, 2013 at Harborside Pavillion (Balboa)
- Annual Golf Tournament: May 17, 2013 at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club (Mission Viejo)
- Move-a-Thon: June, 2013 on campus (a great day of community spirit for our students)
Please mark your calendars for the Gala/Auction and the Golf Tournament/Dinner. These events are open to all adults in our community and are also open to the public. You do not have to be a golfer to enjoy the "after golf festivities." Information on how you can help with both of these events is coming your way shortly.
|
You should have received an envelope from the school via USPS containing the details of this year's annual giving campaign. If you were at Back-to-School Night you already know that as a thank you and an incentive to our wonderfully-supportive families...families who make their gift or pledge by November 8, 2012 will be entered into a drawing to win RESERVED PARKING for the rest of the school year. The details are described in the mailing.
The Lazzara family is already enjoying the luxury of reserved parking as the winners of the Back-to-School Night raffle.
