The Information You Need About the Dogs You Love

It's that time of year when folks start wishing for Fall to finally get here!

But until those cooler fall temperatures arrive, there are plenty of creative ways to enjoy pleasant outings with you furry family member.

Many stores will allow well-mannered, leashed dogs to accompany shoppers! Yes, it's true! I've taken most of my training dogs to home improvement stores, big box electronic stores, office supply stores and the usual pet stores where we practice our manners, spend time together and I even get to knock a few errands off my shopping list  - all in the comfort of indoor air-conditioning!

So, don't let the summer heat keep you from spending time out with your pup! In this issue, you'll read about more ideas to stay cool in Just Add Water! Also, look for information below about the next Graduate Pack Walk!

Looking for ways to keep cool during the hottest month of the summer?

Dogs only have two ways to release body heat: they perspire through the pads on their feet and they pant. This isn't necessarily the most efficient way to reduce body temperatures especially when they're being taken out into the heat with their human families. So, help your pup get comfortable and avoid heat exhaustion with these cool ideas:

Fill an inexpensive kiddie poolswith a little water for a big splash of fun and then toss in a few toys for added interest.

Turn on the sprinkler - just like in the old days - and watch your pup run through it!

Place an icy neck wrap around your pup for some cool comfort with these CDT picks of the month: The Chill Out Bandana  and the Chill Out Ice Bone after your outdoor excursion!

Have a safe & cool summer!
