Exec Bits!

The Spring Into Yellowstone Committee has been hard at work and want to thank you for your interest, support, and partnership.  Our goal is to lay the foundation for a premier festival that will be sustainable for generations.  We can not envision that goal without you, so we want to thank you!

Last year Spring into Yellowstone battled inclement weather and still brought in more than 100 people from 13 states to participate in this unique festival. While we can't ever control the weather, 2016 has arrived with plans of growth underway, and the future of this event is bright.

We want to provide you with the updated registrations for 2016 for Tour Experiences and for Sponsorship options.  Registrations are due by Feb. 1, 2016.  This will allow us time to get all of that information entered on the website so we may begin event registration in late February.  If you know other interested parties, please feel free to pass the information far and wide!

We are currently in the hiring process here at the Chamber, so for the time being, I am the contact for this event and am truly excited to meet all of you and to experience Spring Into Yellowstone together!  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your renewals!

Renewals are flooding in and we thank you all for your continued memberships with us!

This year, per the membership survey results, we have decided to do something a little different, instead of membership postcards to insert into your plaques, we are mailing out membership stickers.  These can be affixed to your business windows or doors.  Should you require, or prefer a postcard for your plaque, please let us know, we can print those as requested, but please note there may be additional wait time.

We will be mailing out these stickers over the course of the next couple weeks as renewals come in, so keep your eyes open for yours!

Wyoming Senior Olympics.

Cody is excited to be hosting the Wyoming Senior Olympic Winter Games for the second year!  The games will take place February 18 through 21.  Through the spirit of competition, Wyoming Senior Olympics promotes a healthful and fun experience in a variety of athletic events.

If you are age 50 and over, consider signing up for one or more of these events!

Last year there were just over 100 participants, with half of those coming from outside Park County.  They are anticipating 200 participants for the upcoming games.  This gives us a chance to showcase our remarkable town, our unique winter landscape and local recreation opportunities.  This also gives you the opportunity to promote your business.

Participants will receive a welcome bag upon registration.  The Winter Games committee would like to provide local merchants the opportunity to have something included in that welcome bag.  The item could be a coupon or discount offer or a 'souvenir' item such as a keychain or water bottle, etc.  There is no fee to have your item or coupon included in the bags.  If you choose not to include something in the bag you can simply offer an "athlete special."  Your athlete special will be printed in the program that all participants will receive.

If you are interested, please contact Amy Quick before the February 5th deadline at 307-527-3490, email amyq@cityofcody.com.

Registration & Winter Games information can be found here:

Morrison-Maierle acquires Holm Blough and Company.

"Pictured from left to right are Roy Holm, Theresa Gunn, Paul Blough, and Frank Page."

Morrison-Maierle is pleased to announce that it has acquired Holm Blough and Company of Cody, WY.

In business for more than 34 years in Cody, Holm Blough and Company (HBC) has become part of Morrison-Maierle, which is headquartered in Helena, Montana, and has been in business for more than 70 years. HBC founders Roy Holm and Paul Blough, along with their staff, have joined Theresa Gunn and Frank Page of Morrison-Maierle in Cody. The business will remain at the HBC location at 1402 Stampede Avenue.

"Holm Blough and Morrison-Maierle are both built on the same principles of integrity, respect, commitment, and excellence," said Robert Morrison, president and CEO of Morrison-Maierle. "We share a very similar culture and are committed to our clients and the communities we serve. Because of our common values and a culture of excellence, both firms have been in business for quite a long time. We're very excited to work hand-in-hand with this group of talented individuals and grow our operation in the northwest Wyoming region."

Morrison-Maierle brings a broad range of engineering, planning, science and surveying capabilities, which Gunn, Cody Regional Office Manager, says will only build on the strong business that HBC has developed throughout the Big Horn Basin area.

"When you walk through the doors of Morrison-Maierle and Holm Blough, you will see the same faces, only now we can offer you the expertise of nearly 150 engineers, surveyors, planners, and scientists in nine different market groups," said Gunn.

Holm agrees that this was the right decision for HBC.

"Paul and I are 100 percent committed to this new plan for our business. This is the right thing to do for our clients, partners, and most of all, our employees. We are ready for the next steps, and know that Morrison-Maierle is the best partner for us."

"Morrison-Maierle is a good fit for us and is a good partner for Cody and our clients throughout Wyoming. This was a natural progression for Roy and me. We will still be able to serve our clients as we always have with a personal touch, but now we can also offer them many more areas of expertise," said Blough.

Morrison-Maierle has offices in Cody and Gillette, Wyoming; Montana; Arizona; and Washington. It is ranked in Engineering News Record's "Top 500 Design Firms" in the United States, has been named to The Zweig Group's "Best Places to Work" list, and recently awarded a Premier Award for Client Satisfaction from PSMJ Resources, a management consulting firm for the architecture, engineering, and construction industries.
