Exec Bits
What a couple of weeks. As most of you know by now, the Cody Chamber along with a host of local leaders have been working hard to find an answer to the Yellowstone Park gate opening delays caused by the sequester.
Working with Park staff, Governor Mead and other State of Wyoming officials, we've got an agreement in place that allows WYDOT to plow the East Road. But, we have to raise $100,000 to do it.
Fundraising started yesterday morning and we already have over $12,000. With the Chamber matching all donations, dollar-for-dollar, we're ¼ of the way there. We are setting up an online donation option (via PayPal) and continue to take checks and cash here at the Chamber or by mail. Read more about this here.
THANK YOU very much to those who have donated and to those who have said they will be donating soon. I am very confident we'll accomplish this! Thanks also to the local media - Cody Enterprise, Big Horn Radio Network, Yellowstone Gate, Powell Tribune, KURL, KCWY, KTVQ and many others for helping us get the word out!
If you haven't RSVP'd for our Founders Day Fiesta, please do so as soon as possible. It will be held next Thursday, March 21st from 6-9 p.m. at Olive Glenn. It will be more casual than in past years and the cost is just $20 per person. Join us for a great evening to honor those who have worked so hard for the Chamber, network with colleagues, and enjoy/dance to the music of Shufflebuggy.
I had a member ask me to remind downtown core businesses to remember when parking in front of stores to limit it to two hours as a courtesy to customers looking for parking spaces year round.
Also, please remember that if you're looking for a great advertising opportunity, our WEBCAM page is one of the most popular on our site and you can have an exclusive sponsorship for just $1,200/year.
Finally, don't forget our next Business After Hours - March 27th from 5-7 p.m. at The Irma. We have a good series of BAH's coming up so be watching for further communications.
Sincerely,
Scott Balyo
