Looking for a fun weekend trip or holiday getaway? The WINE Tour may be the answer and it's always the right size.  Seven wineries in the Northeast of Indiana open for you to come in and taste a wide variety and style of wine.

Before heading out, be sure to check the wineries' hours as some may have switched over to Winter hours.

Oh, Mother

May is conditional, but as a month it contains volumes. The two major holidays in May are about remembering those who have sacrificed for people, familiar and remote. Many schools end their term, freeing up both student and teacher. Alternative plans are made and acted upon. Travel conditions aren't an impediment to gatherings, and "why" becomes "why not" and "when". As a business open 98.9% of the calendar year yet observant of seasonal patterns, we have seen the signs, and heard to starting gun.

Spring Spectacular
This month, the merry merry month of May is the unofficial kick-off to our event season, and the first out of the chute is the Spring Spectacular. For a number of years, we have coincided an opportunity to take advantage of substantial savings on select wines, for one weekend only, early in the calendar year and this opportunity begins on Friday May 15th and ends Sunday May 17th. For those three days, a number of specific wines will be up to 40% off their regular prices, which is a chance to stock up for the upcoming summer. Those particular wines will be identified in an email from us on Wednesday May 14th (and later on Facebook and Twitter), which will leave a little time for strategizing. As always, these selected wines will not get the traditional bulk discounts for 6 bottles (5%) and for 12 bottles (10%), but will count towards those discounts for non-selected wines (i.e. 5 Spring Spectacular wines will receive up to a 40% off discount, and a sixth non-Spring Spectacular wine will receive a 5% discount for being the sixth bottle). It is truly a chance to stock the wine cellar, and take advantage of a rare occasion.

Satek Art Show Applications

The first of the Art Shows is next month (June 20th, for those scoring at home) and if you'd like to be a vendor, there is still time but we need you to send in your application in the very near future. Additionally, our posters and postcard notifications are in, and if you'd like to have some to display your appearance at either or both of the shows, please contact us at susang@satekwinery.com

Vintage Indiana

The biggest wine event in Indiana is next month, and there still time to attend. Vintage Indiana, held the first Saturday in June (the 6th, this year) at Military Park in Indianapolis will be the site for more than 1/3 of the wineries in the state, tasting and selling wine. For more information, you can click on this link.

Pic?Sure.

In a somewhat recent development, the Wineries of Indiana's Northeast (of which we are a member) has started an Instagram page to display our artistic creative side (besides all the wine). We hope to update it every couple weeks with a rotating post by one of the 7 members. If you are already a Instagram follower, we are WineTourIN and if you'd like a crash course/introduction, you can find it at this link.

Peek-a-Two

A few months ago, there was mention of two brand new wines in the works, and can happily follow-up with confirmation of their label approval. Both are coming soon, but until then, here's a look at their label ovals. Patience is a virtue...

The long awaited warm weather is finally here. The anticipation of nice weather is why it seems to take forever to get here. The anticipation of anything is what makes time seem to go slow. I have come to realize that when you stop the anticipation for certain things, days and even years seems to fly by. Remember back when you were twelve years old(I can hardly remember) and you couldn't wait until you turned thirteen so you could become a teenager. It took forever for that year to go by. Then the long, never ending time it took to turn sixteen so you could get your drivers license. As soon as you were driving you couldn't wait till you graduated, then after that it was twenty one so you could do big boy or girl stuff. This is when the anticipated events start occurring less often and time begins to go by more quickly. By now it is obvious to me if I want time to slow down I need to get back to anticipating the little things. Now when I say I can't wait for something I'm not wishing my life away, in reality the anticipation is slowing time down. What does this have to do with growing grapes? I'm not sure but I do know one thing, I just finished a glass of wine and I "can't wait" to get another one.
