That's a Grape Question!
Do grapes really grow in Indiana?
Absolutely! Although not all varieties can grow in Indiana, there are many great ones that thrive on the climate Indiana has to offer. Here are a few grapes grown in Indiana: Steuben, Corot Noir, and Noiret! Not to mention Indiana's signature grape its self, the Traminette.
All of these are available for tasting at Satek Winery.

Winter Vin-derland
Winter. What can you say? It has the word "win" in it? Summer traffic is a memory, and outdoor production other than ice wine, for which cold is a indispensable part, is complete. Inside, we remain a hive of activity: filtering, bottling, labeling, pouring and (hopefully) selling.
The header-photo is an anomaly; perhaps a sacrifice to Bacchus, or more likely deer/birds. Sometimes a longshot comes in.
In that spirit, we look forward to 2014. 2013 has seen the creation of the WINE Tour, medals and trophies won, events held, and good times had by many. This is the time when resolutions are made, so we'll make one to you, gentle reader; we resolve to work hard to make quality interesting wines, provide information upon request and excellent customer service without it, to win you over and never take it for granted.

The end of the line.
A kernel of an idea has run its course; we have chronicled the life of three vines, following them through the months, seen them bloom, bear fruit, and prepare for winter dormancy. The leaves have fallen away, and the remaining canes have began to harden off, giving them a better chance of resisting cold. All too soon, it will be time to begin pruning again, but that is a tale for another time and another author. As a parting gift, I have identified our three "stars" in case you wish to see them in person. I doubt they'll sign any autographs, but they'll certainly won't have any scheduling conflicts.
Steuben (Row 7, 7th vine facing Van Guilder)

Foch (8th row, 1st Vine near road)
Golden Muscat (2nd row, 3rd vine near road)
Next Year- Lather, Rinse, Repeat
