Ask to try our Dry Blueberry wine
A little-known gem that we produce in very small quantities is our Dry Blueberry wine. In fact, we make so little of it-- only a dozen or so cases a year-- that we don't even include it on our tasting list. If you are a dry red wine drinker, you may enjoy the subtle oaking and complexity that this whole-fruit-fermented wine has to offer. Priced at $13.49/bottle, its a great alternative to pricier dry red grape wines. It'll only be around for little longer, so be sure to sample some soon! |

New law allows Election Day winery sales
Due to recently passed legislation, we can now stay open and sell wine on election days, which was previously prohibited under former laws. This year's primaries are May 4th, and Satek Winery will be open our regular hours of 10 a.m.-6 p.m. |

Greetings!
Spring is in full bloom here at Satek, which means our busiest time of year is right around the corner! We look forward to seeing the familiar faces of our summer lake visitors again. We've got some great events planned for the next several months, but regardless of when you stop by, its always a festive atmosphere here.
 One brand-new event we have planned is for May 21-23. We are calling it the Satek Spring Spectacular, but the details are top-secret! I can't say much, but I can tell you that you won't want to miss it! Keep an eye on your email inbox for details the week of May 17th.
Lastly, I know I've been building anticipation for months now about the release of our new Traminette, but the wait is almost over! You may have also read about Traminette in newspaper articles and other publications over the past few months; it was recently named Indiana's Signature Wine. We are releasing our Traminette on Memorial Day weekend, May 29-31. With only 70 cases made this year, we anticipate it won't be around for long. So stop by and "Try on Traminette"-- as if you needed an excuse to come to the winery...

Spring's the time to blush
With Spring's warmer weather comes alfresco lunches, lighter fare, and a more casual approach to entertaining. Enter our Kreibaum Bay Dry Rosè, a perfect wine for this time of year. This dry blush wine is "light, refreshing, and has a crisp acidity which makes it a great food wine", says Satek's Associate Winemaker, Shane Christ.
A lot of people think "sweet" when they see rosè wines, but not so for our Dry Rosè, which is made in a European style from our own Steuben and Seyval grapes. Although bone-dry, this wine's fruitiness and minimal tannins make it a good option for even sweet wine drinkers. Pair with seafood, poultry, quiche, or vegetarian dishes. |

Tasting Room Gift Shop New Items
If you need gifts for your wine-loving friends and family, we've got a whole new array of fun merchandise for the season. We now carry elegant glass decanters, wine aerators, and cheeseboard and knife sets. We offer several new designs of wine-themed rhinestone t-shirts ("wines constantly" and "caught red-handed", among others), and now even have them available in plus sizes. Our local artist, Tarma Van Aiken, has created two new painted wine glass designs-- colorful flip-flops and whimsical swimming fish-- in both unbreakable polycarbonate and glass choices. There's too many other new items to mention here, but we're sure you'll have fun browsing the gift shop when you visit the tasting room! |
