April 8, 2016

On April 4, we celebrated Square Root Day. That's when the month and the day are the square root of the year - in this case, 4/4/16. This fun phenomenon occurs just nine times in a century!

Math Is In The Cards
Eureka Math teacher-writers Beau Bailey and Pam Goodner.
We'll be giving out decks of our Eureka Math playing cards at the 2016 National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Annual Meeting, April 13-16 in San Francisco. Many Eureka Math writers will be at NCTM, giving presentations on a variety of topics across all grade bands, answering your questions, and giving live demonstrations of Eureka Math at booth #205. Last year, we're proud to say that the Eureka Math booth had the most foot traffic in the entire conference (pictured below).

We launched our Eureka Math card sets because we believe in teaching math the way people use it in the real world, and because it helps students learn math in a fun and engaging way. They're printed on durable laminated card stock, and are available only from Didax, our exclusive math tools partner.

Great Minds Debut at ASCD
Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth at ASCD to chat with our team about new developments with Eureka Math and to learn about our new comprehensive English curriculum, Wit & Wisdom.

We enjoyed hearing your Eureka success stories, getting your advice, and sharing our plans for Spanish translations, expanded PD opportunities, and more. People familiar with Eureka Math were interested to learn that our writers have taken the same smartly-sequenced, content-rich approach to Wit & Wisdom, a full K-8 ELA curriculum solution.

To learn more about how to teach more meaningful English visit this website featuring details about Wit & Wisdom and also check out this annotated digital sampler of a module.
