Eureka Remains Best In Latest EdReports Reviews
The independent nonprofit EdReports.org has just released more K-8 math reviews, bringing the total number of reviews to 24.  Still none of the other math series on the market comes close to Eureka. Out of 70 possible points per grade, Eureka's elementary grades averaged 63.0 points. The next nearest competitor averaged just 38.3 points per grade. The spread is even wider in middle school, where Eureka Math grades score 55.0 points on average, with the nearest competitors scoring less than half that----  24.7. The EdReports.org findings show that Eureka Math remains the clear leader for its focus/coherence, rigor, and usability. Click here to read more.

Eureka Writer-Professor Kranendonk Talks Statistics
In a new blog post published on the ASCD website entitled "Statistics, The Yellow Perch, and The Common Core," Eureka Math writer Henry Kranendonk talks about how statistics----  once the "distant cousin of middle and high school math education"----  is now becoming a key component of math instruction. And it makes sense. As Kranendonk notes, "data plays a significant role in our lives, and knowing how to collect, analyze, and present it is essential." By using real-world examples that students relate to, teachers can reach kids by touching on their interests. The ultimate goal? Making sure that students are "not only engaged but also truly thinking and making sense of data."
A Eureka Math Tool You Can Use
Wondering which lessons to prioritize in the last months of the school year? In an ideal world, educators would have enough time to implement all the lessons for their grade. To support the realistic schedules of educators, we've created Pacing and Preparation Guides for grades K-8 to provide suggestions for consolidation and omissions. Find this resource and many more on our Teacher Support page.
