Sparking Minds, Transforming Practice
Whether it's students in a classroom or teachers in PD, people learn more when they're engaged. At least that's what we notice happening in our trainings, attended by more than 14,000 of you so far this year.

Student-Directed Discovery Sparks Learning
To truly be engaged in their math learning, "Students need to make sense of the math they're learning, make connections and have meaningful experiences," writes grade 6-8 Eureka teacher-writer Dawn Pensack. In a new blog post, Pensack goes on to discuss specific instances in the curriculum that reflect this emphasis on letting students guide their own discovery of math, and highlights the value of Eureka Math in teaching the "why" as well as the "how." Expand Your Skills at Upcoming PD Events
Three upcoming PD events offer golden opportunities to enhance your understanding of Eureka Math, whether you are a new implementer or an experienced Eureka user. Attend a "Preparation and Customization of Eureka Math lessons" session in Grass Valley, CA, on December 4, for grades K-12 or in Turlock, CA on December 9, for grades 3-5. On December 10 join us in East Longmeadow, MA, for a session on "Understanding the Major Work of the Grade Band 6-8." Eureka teacher-writers will lead each of these programs.
