"That does not happen with publishers," says a new Eureka Champion about her interaction with a Eureka teacher-writer. At Great Minds we're trying to change industry standards--for writing, access, training, and just plain helping.

Eureka Champion Fiutak Talks Curriculum
In a new Q&A, Kenmore-Tonawanda Union Free School District, NY, Instructional Coach and Eureka Champion Kari Fiutak says that the students and parents in her district have found the Eureka Math curriculum challenging but empowering. "They said that even though the math was harder, they enjoyed it more," she notes.
She also had nice words for one of our writers: "It's a pleasure to work with the folks at Great Minds. This summer, when we were revising our report cards, we knew there might be some concerns with potential revisions to the modules. I reached out to Adam Baker, one of the writers we had trained with. Within six hours, he'd networked with writers in all grades. That was so refreshing. That just doesn't happen with publishers." For more on that district's Eureka report cards read this blog post by Kari. Thanks, Kari-- and thanks, Adam!

Millions Finding Curriculum Resources Online
"Millions of teachers and school leaders are increasingly finding instructional tools online, outside of traditional textbook adoption processes," writes Vicki Phillips of the Gates Foundation in a new blog post on the Impatient Optimists website. One of those resources she mentions is EngageNY.org, a website that houses free curriculum, including a math curriculum developed by the writers of Eureka Math. According to Phillips, EngageNY has been accessed more than 22 million times.
