Dedicated Educators + Great Tools = Better Results
Many of you are sending in success stories and we're thrilled to help you share those with your peers across the country. Sometimes that success comes through in data (see St. Charles Parish's exciting results below). Often the achievement is conveyed in a story well told. As one elementary principal explains below: "Our teachers and kids have stepped up. We're educators, and we're doing our best to take kids where they're supposed to be."

St. Charles Parish (LA) Math Scores Beat State Averages
School district officials in St. Charles Parish (LA) say Eureka Math has been a major factor in students far outperforming state averages on the recent Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) mathematics test. St. Charles, which began using Eureka Math in all schools in the fall of 2014, ranked between third and fifth statewide in the percentage of students scoring mastery or above on the tests and outperformed the state average by between 11 and 19 percentage points, depending on the grade.
Rachel J. Allemand, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, said, "We are very excited about our students' scores and attribute those to the focused instruction provided by our teachers and the ongoing support that we received from Great Minds throughout the 2014-2015 school year." Missouri K-12 District Relies on Eureka Math
Gainesville, Mo, Elementary School principal Jason Morris on Eureka Math:
"I spent hours and hours digging through material. I spent hours on the phone talking to people I trust who were looking at the same types of things we were. That's when we decided on Eureka Math. It was something we knew - from kindergarten through sixth grade - we could build upon. We needed something where we had everyone going in the same direction. ... kids who didn't get it when it was being taught one way understand it when it was taught a different way.
"Most of us learned math using the rule method. ... The rule says you do this, therefore that's what you do. For some people, that works. ... many kids have to 'see' things. One of the things with this new way of teaching math is that it shows the 'why.'
"One of the biggest things we're seeing with this program is that we are not having to reteach things. We're finding, and I think our teachers will back this up, when you expect kids to achieve, most of the time, they're going to do it. ... Our teachers and kids have stepped up. We're educators, and we're doing our best to take kids where they're supposed to be."
