South Milwaukee Sees Meaningful Gains
After just one full year using Eureka Math, the 750 students who attend South Milwaukee Middle School have something to be proud about. These students far exceeded expectations in academic performance in math, with two grades almost doubling expected growth. "Our principal is ecstatic. We've not had scores like this before," said Joe Giera, math coordinator for the district. "Teachers love it, how the lessons develop, the rich and deep content, how kids are learning more and can understand the hows and whys of what they are learning," Giera added. "These improvements are a credit to the hard work of students and their teachers," said Lynne Munson, President and Executive Director of Great Minds, the non-profit that created Eureka Math. "We join them in celebrating their success."
