Good fractions.Berkeley mathematician Hung-Hsi Wu recently talked to Education Week about "fraction phobia" and how to combat it. Eureka users will not be surprised to learn that the number line is the main antidote. Read more here.
Professional development. Several lead writers will be presenting professional development sessions in communities across the country this spring. One Louisiana math coach had this to say after attending a session with two colleagues: "They were very impressed and so glad they came. They were especially glad to have the opportunity to go through a lesson and see in a thoughtful and structured way how to approach a lesson in a reasonable amount of time." Learn more here.
