Here is our weekly run-down of triumphs and travails from the ongoing effort to help all American math students say,

"I got it!"

DC Teacher of the Year discusses Eureka Math. Congratulations to DC Teacher of the Year for 2015 Jennifer Ramacciotti, an 8th grade math teacher at KIPP DC AIM Academy. "This year I have faced new challenges in using a new curriculum, Eureka Math," she wrote in her application for the award. "With a history of strong results at our school, it was important that we did not settle but continued to grow as educators so our students could grow. The new curriculum has increased rigor for our students and requires that we anticipate challenges and plan more carefully to help reach our kids where they are while still pushing them to think more critically about mathematics." Louisiana curriculum specialist discusses communicating with parents. "Once an adult, an educator, sits down with parents and explains to them what we're doing and why, instead of them getting their information on social media, parents are fine with it," says Anna Teekell of Rapides Parish, Louisiana.
