Here is our weekly run-down of triumphs and travails from the ongoing effort to help all American math students say, "I got it!"

New and improved. Check out the new layout of the Eureka Math website and learn how we help, what we offer, and who we are. Easily find news, case studies, curricular resources, and more.
A new curriculum for a new day. While you're on the website, hear from Eureka Math writers, all of them classroom teachers, in our new video. "We found that there was a need for students to understand why the mathematics worked rather than just a process to find the answer," says Adam Baker, Eureka Math writer and 5th grade teacher. Our students deserve to know the "why." There are two kinds of math lesson plans, according to a blog post by a 3rd grade teacher at the Rocketship Spark Academy. The first type of lesson plan is safe and helps students memorize, while the second lets students understand the "why" behind each step. "When students are given the chance to truly grapple with the world around them, they are bound to succeed," she writes, "So I choose the second option, always." So do we.
