Dear ARZA Canada Members,
A lot is happening in Israel now and with elections coming in March there will no doubt be plenty of opportunity to discuss politics in the new year. Our Reform Movement in Israel continues to grow and flourish.
As you may know, ARZA Canada supports the Reform Movement in Israel by funding the establishment of Reform Preschools in communities where there is a potential for the Reform Movement to take hold. Currently there are over 50 preschools that help introduce the notion that "there is more than one way to be Jewish" to the secular community. Parents get to experience a non orthodox Shabbat or holiday celebration at the preschool and realize that religious practices can be inviting and modern. Plus the Preschools have been recognized as providing a very enriched program for the young students.
To reach out in these communities, the Israel Reform Movement provides tuition scholarships for those families that cannot afford the tuition. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to help these families get a taste of our Jewish practices.
The scholarships are for $120 per month or $1200 per year.
As part of your year end charitable donations, I'm asking that you consider providing scholarship money for a family that may otherwise not be able to benefit from the excellent education provided by the Reform Preschool program
