Radio silence - or equality?

The Israeli Reform movement's Israel Religious Action Centre (IRAC) achieved another success for gender equality in wining a court case to prevent the haredi Kol BaRama radio station from continuing its practice of refusing to hire women or allow female voices on the air. The radio station will now have to demonstrate equal opportunity hiring, including female broadcasters.
IRAC's initiative was quietly supported by many Orthodox women.
