In his new book. "Like Dreamers", Yossi Klein Halevi tells the history of Israel through the lives of 7 paratroopers who liberated the Old City in the Six Day War. Halevi stands out as a staunch but practical Zionist, with a love of Judaism and a strong streak of empathy for his fellow human beings, as evidenced in this description of an altercation in his neighbourhood, in which he intervened on behalf of a young Arab man and his Jewish girlfriend.
