New Study from Mary Kay and LoveIsRespect Shows Teens Stay Too Long in Abusive Dating Relationships

Silence speaks volumes.  A new survey reveals that young men and women continue to grapple with various forms of dating abuse including emotional, sexual, physical and digital abuse.  Seventy three percent reported they are experiencing or have experienced emotional abuse while more than half of all young adults wait six months before seeking help.  In partnership with LoveIsRespect, the 2014 Mary Kay Truth About Abuse Survey aimed to understand how long teens and young adults wait before they reach out for help and gauge what type of abuse is most prevalent among those who seek help.  Read the rest of the news release and download the infographic.

Want help with unsolved sex crimes?

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center is currently working with TNT's Cold Justice on a new spin-off TV series that will focus on sex crimes.  If there are unsolved sex crimes in your community that could use additional resources we encourage you to learn more by contacting the producers.

A new  series, Cold Justice: Sex Crimes, is looking for law enforcement agencies interested in receiving assistance with their unsolved sexual assault cases. Their resources include, but are not limited to -- assisting with costs for forensic testing (grant money for DNA, trace, current or backlogged rape kit, etc.) and providing experienced prosecutorial, investigative and forensic expertise.  They work with ASCLD-certified labs that provide fast turnaround times, so the testing process becomes greatly expedited.  If you are interested, please contact: Joshua Robinson at 323-790-8653 or joshua.robinson@magicalelves.com.
