- The National Center's new partnership with ManageURiD is almost here. In 20+ days an important new identity protection service will be available to help you manage the information available about you on the web and ensure that sites that release too much receive requests to take down your home address, phone and more that might compromise safety. We are excited to work with the owners of the company who are donating 112 subscriptions so that coalitions receive two free to give away to victims of both domestic and sexual violence. Check it out, you'll find the rates reasonable and each subscription will result in another victim receiving the service free for one year! We hope each coalition will be able to award several free of charge to women and/or men needing this protection but unable to afford a new expense.
"The SAFE Protocol helps ensure that victims will be cared for with compassion and respect when they turn to hospitals for help," said Bea Hanson, Acting Director of the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW). "This not only improves outcomes for victims, it strengthens criminal cases. We are working to develop a comprehensive response to rape and sexual assault. One element of this is the President's 2014 budget that includes $20 million to address the backlog of rape kits."
