The National Center on Domestic and Sexual Violence is participating in the first-ever Amplify Austin 
- a 24-hour, online giving event. This philanthropy event is coordinated by I Live Here, I Give Here, of which the National Center has long been a member. It is an amazing fundraising opportunity for our organization and
we need your participation!


Between 7 pm March 4 and 7 pm (CT) March 5, every donation of $25 and above you make to the National Center on Domestic and Sexual Violence will be matched out of challenge funds made available from the University Federal Credit Union, the Austin Community Foundation, Austin Ventures, Chase, K Friese and Associates, Whole Foods and more!

Thursday is the Deadline for Scholarships for the Establishing Expertise as an Ethical Expert Witness Conference! 

Full Court Press Scholarships are available for select OVW grantees to attend the Establishing Expertise as an Ethical Expert Witness Conference,
May 20-22, 2013 in Austin, TX. The deadline to apply is for the scholarship is Thursday, February 28!

Participants attending the conference will be able to: identify the elements needed for effective expert witness testimony; explain how the dynamics of domestic violence can be presented in court settings; and provide for the expert testimony in domestic violence cases.

The conference is a collaboration of the National Center on Domestic and Sexual Violence, The University of Texas at Austin, School of Law, School of Social Work and the Institute on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.The curriculum is structured on adult learning theories and includes lecture, case studies, and experiential learning. The distinguished faculty is comprised of advocates, attorneys, practitioners, and researchers with experience either providing expert testimony in domestic violence cases, or utilizing an expert witness in civil and criminal courts. Interpreters with experience in courtroom settings are available for attendees who are hearing impaired.
