GSKH Names New CEO

Welcome Liz Workman

The Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Liz Workman has been named the new CEO for the council. She officially assumed her CEO position on July 1, 2013.

Workman most recently served as Executive Director of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation where she successfully led the organization through a critical period of growth in both asset size and community grant making. Prior to joining the foundation, she was an independent fine arts consultant and provided a broad range of collect

ions management and administrative services to museums, private collectors and corporations. She also has significant experience in the banking and investment banking sectors as the Managing Director of Analytics at Cohane Rafferty Securities in New York from 1988-1999.

Liz is a sixth generation Kansan. She grew up in Wichita, Kansas and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Wichita State University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Boston University. She is fluent in Spanish and is an accomplished photographer.

"We're very pleased to have Liz leading our council as we prepare to serve the next generation of Girl Scouts," said Arnold Hudspeth, chairman of council's board of directors. "The search committee is confident that her passion for our mission and ability to engage community members will help us continue to provide relevant activities for today's girls while honoring our rich history."

Marlo Dolezal served as Interim CEO for the past nine months during the search period. Dolezal will now return to her post as Chief Strategy Officer/Chief Financial Officer for the council. "The Board is thankful for Marlo's leadership throughout the search process," added Hudspeth.
