What does summer camp offer?

Girl Time Done Right

Did you know that involvement in out-of-school programs promotes positive development among youth? The Girl Scout Research Institute found that Girl Scout experiences contribute to girls' success in and out of school, including girls; leadership skills, problem solving abilities, and academic success.

Of course, as a Girl Scout volunteer, you probably DID know all that, but have you told your friends and neighbors about what Girl Scouting offers?

New and current Girl Scouts will find incredible summer opportunities in the 2013 Summer Activity Guide. Busing is available from Wichita to various programs at Starwoods Outdoor Center. There are also new activities across the state, like the Exploration Place Gross Camps in Emporia and Garden City, and the Older Girl Overnight Camp in Sedan, along with Travel Opportunities and Program-on-Demand. What are you waiting for? Help spread the word about these summer opportunities for girls!

Speaking of summer camp, meet one amazing staff member who helps make camp possible!

In a typical week on the job, I ... ensure that our camps are safe and ready for girls to use.

My favorite thing about camp is ... interacting with the staff and volunteers, and making sure our campers have a great experience!

When I'm not here, you'll find me... at the YMCA working out.

Online Registration

Membership is just a few clicks away

Parents and Troop Leaders both can complete Girl Scout Membership registration ONLINE.  To use the new system for the first time, anyone who has ever been a registered Girl Scout through GSKH, or the parent of a registered Girl Scout, must ACTIVATE their account through the online system.  Only those who have never been entered into the GSKH system need to choose CREATE ACCOUNT.

Troop Leaders: when registering any new troop members online, please continue to collect a paper registration form with a parent/guardian signature for new girl registrations, and an adult's own signature for new adult registrations.  Indicate on the form that the registration has been submitted online.  These forms can be turned in to your closest GSKH office or mailed directly to the Wichita Girl Scout Center.  Remember, the online registration system gives troop leaders quick and easy access to their troop roster, and also allows for simple payment using a credit or debit card.  If you have questions, contact your MVP specialist or our online registration Help Desk.
