Happy Girl Scout Birthday

101 Years Young

GSUSA On this day in 1912, Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the first 18 Girl Scout members in Savannah, Georgia.

If you are in the Wichita area TONIGHT, it is not too late to attend a special Girl Scout event. Watermark Books is hosting Stacy A. Cordery, author of the book Juliette Gordon Low: The Remarkable Founder of the Girl Scouts for a talk and book-signing.

Girl Scouts across the council are encouraged to wear uniforms to school or work today to show your Girl Scout pride! Fun patches are available for girls and adults. Place your order by March 31. Click here for details!

Good Turn for Goodwill

Giving back in 2013

Good Turn for Goodwill Girl Scout Donation Drive is a fun community service project open to all the girls of Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland Council.  This event allows the girls to give back to their community by collecting material donations for Goodwill stores in their area. Register online from now until March 29 at www.kansasgirlscouts.org. Girls can be registered as individuals, or you can sign up a troop, but girls must be pre-registered in order to receive the patch.

Get to know your council support

In a word, my role at GSKH is
: Challenging. We continue to innovate and expand our funding streams and resources to support the girls we serve.

I believe it is important to support Girl Scouts because: Unrestricted public support is important to the organization as it helps provide for the costs associated with serving the girls.

When I'm not here, you'll find me: Cheering on the Shox! (with her boyfriend Jason - pictured right)

Great American Aluminum Can Drive

Can you do the can-can?

In the Hutchinson area? Hutchinson Troops are coordinating the Great American Can Roundup in conjunction with Earth Day. The public is encouraged to bring aluminum cans to Midwest Iron and Metal, 700 S. Main St, in Hutchinson on Saturday, April 20 between 8:00 a.m. and noon.

What a great fundraiser for troops and good for the Earth! Click here for more details.

Get your community involved! The Scout/Council Challenge is a nationwide environmental fundraiser which runs through April 30. Register and learn more at www.cancentral.com/roundup.
