Breakfast and Business on April 6

The annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast and GSKH Annual Meeting is Saturday, April 6, 2013. GSKH will host regional breakfast events where Volunteer Award recipients will be recognized by staff, peers, and their families. After that, we'll take care of council business at the Annual Meeting, held via videoconferencing.  Look for further details soon, but mark your calendars today!

Become a VIP

All Girl Scout volunteers are very important people, but we're looking for a new kind of V.I.P. Everything is more fun with a friend, so Volunteer-In-Pairs! Beginning now, through the end of the Girl Scout year, when you recruit a NEW adult to volunteer with your troop or service unit, we'll give you a pair of Girl Scout ear-buds AND an iTunes gift card. More volunteers help to serve Kansas girls better - and that's music to everyone's ears!

Reasons to celebrate

Remember these Girl Scout days!

Girl Scouts, we'll be thinking about all of you on Friday, February 22, when Girl Scouts and Girl Guides around the world celebrate World Thinking Day, and give thanks for our international friendships!

Then, it's time to think ahead to Girl Scout Week, which falls from Sunday, March 10 to Saturday, March 16. March 12, 2013 will mark the 101st Birthday of the Girl Scouts - and that's reason to celebrate! There are activities that you can do each day of the week.

How will you show your Girl Scout pride? March 12, 2012 has been designated as Wear Your Uniform to School or Work (Proud Girl Scout) Day. Girl and adult Girl Scouts are encouraged to wear their uniforms to let your peers see how proud you are to be a Girl Scout. And of course, patches are available (see right); contact your local regional office for information.

Trees for Troops!

Help us celebrate Girl Scout Week by planting trees.

As part of Girl Scout Week , Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland and National Wildlife Federation have partnered to provide trees for troops and Service Units to plant in and around their communities.

Please fill out the Trees for Girl Scout Week application to request trees. The application is due by February 25, 2013, and trees can be picked up at your local GSKH office or online here.

Finance Reminder

All accounts need TWO signers!

We know that Troop volunteers are working hard to keep track of your Troop finances during the Cookie Sale! We would like to remind you that each Troop or Group checking account should have (at least) two volunteer signers, and all account signers must have a current volunteer application and background check on file. If you have question or concerns about your Troop checking account, please check with your MVP Specialist.

From the Council Shop

Working to Serve You Better!

Exciting news:We are activating a new system for the Girl Scout Shops in Hays, Emporia, and Wichita which will help us better serve you with the Girl Scout goods you're looking for! In order to get started, the Hays and Emporia shops will be closed on March 1st and March 4th.  The Wichita shop will be open for business on those dates.
