Get ready for Cookies Now!
Troop volunteers, training sessions for the new Cookies Now! program begin on December 1. Below are the training sessions scheduled between December 1 and December 9. Click here to see the full list through December 17! Be sure to register online for your session, by selecting ONLINE REGISTRATION, then Adult Event Registration, from www.kansasgirlscouts.org.
This year, from the very first day of the Cookie Sale, girls will have packages of cookies in hand to sell door-to-door and to family and friends. This means selling, delivering, and money collection is done in one easy step! At training, troops will receive the Cooke Sale Materials along with information on how to order your troop's cookies and manage the troop's Cookie Sale.

Cadettes Take Charge!
Learn about the GS Silver Award
The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout Cadette can achieve. By working on her Silver Award, a girl demonstrates she is a committed and determined leader dedicated to improving her community. Silver Award recipients are exceptional young women who have used their knowledge and leadership skills to make a difference in the world. Each step they take on their projects gives them a great chance to learn and grow! See more details here.
There are ten steps for girls to take to earn their Silver Awards - individually or in groups.
- Choose one of three Girl Scout Cadette Journeys to complete.
- Complete the Silver Award Orientation online.
- Brainstorm significant issues that the girls care about, and research those issues by reading information and interviewing experts.
- Build a Silver Award team - even girls working individually will need a team of family, friends, and community experts!
- Explore the community.
- Choose a take action project, and submit the Silver Award Proposal Form to awards@gskh.org for approval. Projects usually take 6-12 months to complete, with 50 hours of project time as the suggested minimum.
- Develop the project, and make sure it is sustainable or lasting in the community!
- Make a plan and put it into motion.
- Submit Silver Award Final Report with Hour Log to awards@gskh.org for approval.
- Reflect, share, and celebrate.
