I offer this February Newsletter as a spiritual "hello" for your busy day. My intention is to bring you messages, information, and events that can keep you connected to your spiritual development and bring you more peace, energy, and clarity.  
 
Through the Looking Glass
 
Mirrors have long been used for divination and magic. In one section of the Ancient Egyptian exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum in NYC, there are ancient mirrors that are over 3,000 years old. They can be used as portals to other worlds. When you consciously peer into the mirrors and allow your eyes to lose focus, you may see a different face looking back at you which you may, surprisingly, recognize as your own ancient face. You may also see an animal or vision. (My next spiritual tour of Ancient Egypt at the Met Museum is March 29-see information below). 
 
Mirrors have long been used as a way to see into "the other side." Gazing or "skrying" into such reflective objects as mirrors, crystal balls or pools causes the subconscious to move into a channeling state. Visions seen while scrying are thought to be intuitive messages sent from the subconscious self to the conscious self, opening the psyche. Lewis Carroll brilliantly designed a story in which the character Alice enters a mirror world completely in reverse, while JK Rowling in Harry Potter uses the medium of a mirror to view innermost desires with the Mirror of Erised (Desire spelled backwards).
