Saluting Our Volunteers

and families without the numerous contributions of our volunteers! These selfless individuals visit home hospice patients, help with household tasks or provide respite for family caregivers; perform clerical duties in the inpatient hospice center; and share special talents to bring peace and comfort to those facing the end of life. And dog-gone it, even our furry friends get involved and enjoy every minute of it!

industry to celebrate the construction, the workers and also those who will ultimately be served by the building; the top beam is signed by well-wishers before it is raised to the apex of the building. Deaconess hosted a ceremony April 19 to raise the beam for the new Hospice House--set to open this fall near the Deaconess Hospital main campus--that will be staffed by the Deaconess VNA Plus Hospice team. In combination with the John and Betty Charlier Hospice Center, the Hospice House will provide much-needed inpatient beds for the Tri-State area. Grand-opening festivities will be held later this year.
