Think it's too late to reinvent yourself? "Think again," says Carolyn Worthington, creator of Healthy Aging Month, an annual health observance designed to focus national attention on the positive aspects of growing older and finding new careers or passions, improving your health and more. We're devoting an entire issue to help you do just that!

Healthy Aging Month...It's a Personal Thing
Tips for reinventing yourself
In honor of this annual celebration, the editors of Healthy Aging Magazine provide inspiration, practical ideas and out-of-the-box suggestions for adults, ages 45-plus, to improve their physical, mental, social and financial well-being. The first tip is: Picture yourself at your best age and act like that (don't look in the mirror, just feel it!)
A Shining Example
"No Rocking Chair Retirement for Me"
Charlier Hospice Center volunteer shares his love of music with patients, families and staff
Charlier Hospice Center volunteer Ken Goans
Ken Goans poses with his prized possession, a Martin 12-string guitar that he plays for patients and families in the Charlier Hospice Center every week.
When Ken Goans retired at age "59 years and 51 weeks" from a fast-paced, physically-demanding job at Lensing Wholesale in Evansville, he would have had every right to sit back and take it easy. That thought, though, "never crossed my mind," he says--and now people of all ages are benefiting from Ken's energy, compassion and especially his love of music.
