Not "Feeling" It?

The Importance of Emotions

Blessings to You!

Last night I was watching one of my favorite shows, "America's Got Talent." I love to see the performers share their talents, from the heart and soul. Last night was a rough one. The judges were finding fault with act after act. The disappointment on the faces of the performers, and the occasional "boos" of the audience, usually directed to the judges, was palpable.

One act in particular, a singer, performed very nicely. The judges did not respond favorably however. Jimmy Rose, during his audition, had performed a song he wrote called "Coal Keeps The Lights On." For that, he received a standing ovation. Last night, not so much.

Jimmy is a coal miner, and veteran of Iraq. He wants to make a better life for his family. He does not want to return to the dangerous mines. The difference between "Coal Keeps the Lights On" and the song he performed last night, is that the judges could "feel" the first song. It touched their hearts. It was his story...it was "every mans(womans)story." It is also a prime example of the creative power of emotion.
Rev 3:15,16

Dead End I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.

Thought plus feeling brings manifestation. Where the mind (thought) goes, energy flows (emotion), and manifestation follows.

Rev. Alicia-Leslie

As Jimmy Rose sang "Coal Keeps the Lights On," each judge, and person listening, entertained the thought of needing to do what must be done to care for our families, and the feeling of how awful it is to have to do something one does not like, or is dangerous, to get it done. We were all moved...touched with empathy stirred by the inner knowing that we are One. The manifestation; the outcome of this was that Jimmy was enthusiastically moved forward.

The song he sang last night, "Heaven," was nice, but fell short on meaning...the people wanted to feel what they had felt the first time. If Jimmy does go on, and wants to win, he will need to find that soul connection that will touch the judges and audience.

Can you see here the power of emotion? Look at emotion as energy...E...in motion...E-Motion. The emotion, or feeling, compels us to manifest the thought behind it. Wondering why you are not manifesting what you want in life? Maybe you're just "not feelin' it. Maybe you are feeling fear or doubt which serve to repel your desire. Thought, plus feeling, = manifestation. Where the mind goes, energy flows, and manifestation follows.

Here is a little exercise for you. 1) Write down three things that you desire, that have not manifested in your life. 2) Roll each one around in your mind a bit. Pay attention to what you feel about it. Is there passion? Hope? Fear? Apathy? Anticipation and Joy? If you're not "feelin' it," chances are, it's not going to happen. If you think you really want it, try stirring up some energy around it. Imagine having what it is you want. Feel it. See it. Smell it. Taste it.

Someone once said, "Feel the fear and do it anyway." Yes...there may be fear...but it CAN be overcome with positive affirmation and practicing the principle.

Now...BOLDLY go to your Destiny!
