Camp Ripley Public Affairs
A recent ceremony for the Beyond The Yellow Ribbon Program united area communities creating a comprehensive network connecting and coordinating resources such as employment, healthcare and community involvement for the purpose of proactively supporting Servicemembers and military families. The ceremony was held at Camp Ripley on June 19.
"With more than 200 networks across Minnesota, the program provides invaluable service to our job-seeking veterans and their participation in our communities," said Brig. Gen. Neal Loidolt, director of the Joint Staff of the Minnesota National Guard.
Since 2008, Minnesota's Beyond The Yellow Ribbon program has supported thousands of Minnesotans who served or were affected during various deployments. Representatives of Crow Wing County, Morrison County, the City of Buffalo, the City of Monticello, Hiway Federal Credit Union and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources were recognized by Lt. Gov. Yvonne Prettner-Solon and presented with formal proclamations.
On behalf of the more than 26,000 local area veterans, Col. Scott St. Sauver, Camp Ripley commander, expressed his appreciation for the
Yellow Ribbon programs and how they benefit not only communities, but also the thousands of Servicemembers who train on Camp Ripley every day.

On June 10, Maple Grove was officially proclaimed a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon City during a celebration ceremony featuring the local band Rocket Club!
This one-of-a-kind proclamation ceremony took place at the Maple Grove Town Green on a perfect summer night. Rocket Club kicked off the event with a few songs before Brig. Gen. William J. Lieder, director of the Joint Staff for Joint Force Headquarters, Minnesota National Guard, began the formal proclamation ceremony.
Also in attendance were Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, Annette Kuyper, director of military outreach for the Department of Military Affairs and Maple Grove Mayor Mark Steffenson.
Congratulations and thank you for your support of Servicemembers and military families!
