General Membership Meeting for Budget Approval
Bonus: Firefighters to visit!
Saturday, January 16
2 - 4:45 p.m.
Eastport-Annapolis Branch Library
269 Hillsmere Drive
Your officers and Board members have arranged for Captain Rob Vaccaro, Chief of Fire Station 8, and his team to visit AOTB at our next General Membership Meeting (GMM).
First, we'll approve the November General Membership Meeting minutes (read them here) and then take the critical vote to approve our FY 2017 budget -- reviewed at our November meeting and published in the mid-December issue of the PIER (click here).
Then, after the usual business is completed, Captain Vaccaro will discuss his top safety concerns, and afterward, open the forum to answer your questions.
We'll invite our neighbors from Oyster Harbor to attend and contribute their insights as well.
The best way to welcome these brave first responders is to come prepared to actively explore topics that show how much we really do care about the public safety they so valiantly help secure for all of us, every day.

Santa Makes a Stop in AOTB
and all the kids were excited!
Once again our siren-and-bell-equipped red Santa sleigh (Ok, some adults mistook it for a fire truck, but the kids knew better), along with a formidable train of elf carriers, made it to Arundel on the Bay beach for the yearly Santa Run. They were all on their way to make the holidays even more special for less-advantaged kids in our county.
|
Overheard by Santa's sleigh driver: "I've got three more stops and I'm already full! Not the worst problem to have!"
| For the past three years in a row, Alison Buckler and her merry band of AOTB elves put together a super holiday event on our beach highlighted by the biggest haul ever of toys donated by residents for our less fortunate Anne Arundel neighbors.
Hope you were there, but even if you couldn't make it this year, take a look at what AOTB calls the true holiday spirit of giving and please make it a point to be there next year!
